A HINT AT A POSSIBLE REWARD

A HINT AT A POSSIBLE REWARD

Mark 1:16-18 HRB “And walking along beside the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon (Peter) and his brother Andrew casting a small net in the sea; for they were fishers. And Yahshua said to them, Come after Me, and I will make you to become fishers of men. 18And they abandoned their nets at once and followed Him.”

Yahshua calls all of us to be His disciples, His Talmidim. Some, like Peter and Andrew, become great fishers of men, bringing many souls into the Kingdom of Yahweh. Others, not so much. I’ve been fishing for men’s souls for over 40 years, and I must admit, I don’t consider myself very good at it. Most of the people I come in contact with simply want nothing to do with Yahweh or His Kingdom. People seem to be very rebellious and not interested in their own soul’s destiny. A sad fact and unfortunate for them, for in the end, Yahweh’s Kingdom will be the only Kingdom standing. But notice something that Yahshua did not tell Peter and Andrew. He did not promise them that they would catch a whole bunch of fishy men. That doesn’t make me feel any better about my own performance as a fisher of men.

But we all must realize something about Yahshua’s Way. He makes us the fishers of men, but He does the catching of men’s souls. Yahweh causes the increase into His Kingdom, we don’t. That’s why He gets all the glory, but we may get a little reward for our efforts. Consider what Ezekiel has to say on the matter as he tells us a little about the coming Millennial Kingdom of Yahshua.

Ezekiel 47:8-12 NKJV “Then he said to me: “This water flows toward the eastern region, goes down into the valley, and enters the sea. When it reaches the sea, its waters are healed. 9And it shall be that every living thing that moves, wherever the rivers go, will live. There will be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters go there; for they will be healed, and everything will live wherever the river goes. 10It shall be that fishermen will stand by it from En Gedi to En Eglaim; they will be places for spreading their nets. Their fish will be of the same kinds as the fish of the Great Sea, exceedingly many. 11But its swamps and marshes will not be healed; they will be given over to salt. 12Along the bank of the river, on this side and that, will grow all kinds of trees used for food; their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They will bear fruit every month, because their water flows from the sanctuary [Throne of Yahweh]. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for medicine.””

If you will be faithful to do the best you can do as a fisher of men, Yahweh will let you into His Kingdom. In that kingdom to come, everyone will have something wholesome to do. There will be some who will be fishermen for all eternity!! Do you like fishing today? Practice some of that cunning fishing technique on fishing for men’s souls, to bring them into and grow them up in Yahweh’s Kingdom, and you may get to fish for slippery scaly fish for all eternity!! Yahweh promises in verses 9 & 10 that there will be an abundance of fish for all eternity!! You fishermen should name and claim that promise!! But it is conditional upon you ending up in Yahweh’s Kingdom!! I’m sure He will let you fish for recreation and for profit.

Revelation 22:1-2 HRB “And he showed me a pure river of water of life, bright as crystal, coming forth out of the throne of Yahweh and of the Lamb. 2In the midst of its street and of the city, on this side and that side of the river, was a tree of life producing twelve fruits: according to one month each yielding its fruit. And the leaves of the tree were for healing of the nations.”

There is a beautiful new world coming to this planet soon. I hope you will be ready to enjoy it like the future fishermen will. I wonder, will He allow men to continue to hunt animals? I don’t know, we’re going to beat our swords, guns, and knives into plowshares, so what would we hunt with? Bows and arrows? Maybe.
