The World To Come

The World To Come

My spirit was upset this week when I found out that there is a camp of believers who say there will not be a literal 1,000 year reign of Messiah Yahshua on this planet in the near future. I didn’t realize there are so many divisions among Yahweh’s people. But I want you to know, dear reader, that there will be the Kingdom of Yahweh on earth. Yahshua told us to pray for it and the Apostles did teach it. Look at Hebrews 2:5 (NKJV) “For He has not put the world to come, of which we speak, in subjection to angels.” It is this world to come, of which the author of the Book of Hebrews writes about, especially when in relation to the promise of the rest that remains to be obtained by the people of Yahweh. Hebrews 4:1 (NKJV) “Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it.” The rest that we are going to enter into will be found in the Kingdom of Yahweh that Yahshua will establish on this earth at His Advent 2.0.

The word for world in Hebrews 2:5 is not the common word cosmos, found many places in the New Covenant. It is the Greek word oikoumenē pronounced oy-kou-men’-ay, Strong’s number 3625, found only 16 times in the New Covenant. It means the inhabited earth, including those inhabitants, in other words, an empire, or kingdom of peoples on earth, not just the land, or soil of the planet.

This rest that we will experience goes beyond just resting on the seventh day Sabbath, or entering the Promised Land of Israel. It extends to the eternal rest that Yahweh Himself experiences daily. When Yahshua gave the disciples His model prayer in Matthew 6:9-13 (NKJV) “In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 11Give us this day our daily bread. 12And forgive us our [sin] debts, As we forgive our [sin] debtors. 13And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.” . . . He commanded them to pray for Yahweh’s kingdom to come and be established on this planet Earth!! Yahweh’s kingdom includes Yahweh’s rest! Yahweh’s kingdom is coming from the heavens to this earth, and this world will be inhabited by Yahweh’s people, no matter what the naysayers may think or teach. It is going to be an eternal time of unimaginable blessing and joy!

Yahshua’s reign on earth may not just be 1,000 years, but it will begin with a first 1,000 years, and extend on into a timeless eternity. In fact, when you look at the word thousand in Revelation 20, it is in the plural, so it could be saying thousands of years!! But no matter, we are in the post crucifixion and post Pentecost age, and yet the Apostle of Hebrews writes that the promise of entering Yahweh’s rest remains for us to obtain. It was yet future for our 1st Century brethren, it is still future for us today, but it’s coming soon to an inhabited world very near to you!!

You can begin to experience this rest of Yahweh by giving your life to Messiah Yahshua, Jesus Christ, today! No time to put it off, today is the day of salvation. Bow your heart before Yahshua today, or bow your knee before Him on Judgment Day, the choice is still yours to make. Of course, the age of grace is over when Judgment Day arrives, so trust Yahshua to save your soul right now!

A Simple Lesson From Shavuot

 A Simple Lesson From Shavuot

Leviticus 23:14-16 (NKJV) “You shall eat neither bread nor parched grain nor fresh grain until the same day that you have brought an offering to your Mighty One; it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 15‘And you shall count for yourselves from the day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering: seven Sabbaths shall be completed. 16Count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath; then you shall offer a new grain offering to Yahweh.”

Romans 12:1 (NKJV) “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of Yahweh, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to Yahweh, which is your reasonable service.”

Ephesians 2:14-16 (NKJV) “For He Himself is our peace, who has made both (Hebrew and Gentile, Judah and Ephraim) one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, 15having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law (Torah) of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two (Judah and Ephraim, Hebrew and Gentile), thus making peace, 16and that He might reconcile them both (Judah and Ephraim, Hebrew and Gentile) to Yahweh in one body (the Messianic Hebrew Church) through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.”

Yahweh showed me that we are the “new grain offering” to be offered up to Yahweh as a living sacrifice under the renewed covenant celebration of Shavuot, or Pentecost. Look at Ephesians 2, one of the most powerful chapters in the entire Scriptures. Yahshua abolished the hostility, the cause for any opposition, between our flesh and Yahweh’s Law, or Torah. By His one time sacrifice of Himself, He eliminated the ritualistic ceremonial sacrificial system of atoning for sin under the First Covenant. Notice verse 16, Yahshua killed the hostility, the opposition, between humans and Yahweh’s perfect holy good and righteous Law, NOT the moral code of Torah itself. The flaw is not in the Torah, it’s in human flesh, our sin nature. Anyone who accepts Yahshua by grace through faith in Him and what He has already done on the execution stake, can have this flaw fixed. He will take out your heart of flesh, your sinful heart, and give you a heart with His nature, a spiritual heart full of love for Yahweh and compassion for your fellow man.

Hebrews and Gentiles are all saved the same way, by grace through faith in Yahshua, that’s how Yahweh makes us all one new man, one new body, one new Messianic Hebrew Church. That is what Paul was talking about in Romans 11:26 also. Hebrews are saved in the same way, in the same manner, as Gentiles are, Romans 11:26 (NKJV) “And so (in like manner) all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob;” This verse does NOT say that all Hebrews will be saved, just as all Gentiles will not be saved, but all who are saved, are saved in the same way, in the same manner, by grace through faith in Yahshua!!

You can never eliminate the moral code of the Torah, for that is Yahweh’s nature, it’s how the whole universe is governed. Matthew 22:35-40 (NKJV) “Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, 36“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law (Torah)?” 37Yahshua said to him, “‘You shall love Yahweh your Mighty One with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38This is the first and great commandment. 39And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.””

Hebrews can never keep all of Yahweh’s Torah to perfection and achieve life that way, neither can Messianic or Grace Christians. That is why Yahshua killed, abolished, put to death the hostility, or opposition, between us and His holy Torah. Life is found in Yahshua, He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Yahweh has made peace between us all and Him through Yahshua’s sacrifice.

Why do humans hate the Torah? Because we can’t keep it, we receive the death penalty!! Who would want that? So Yahshua put to death our hatred for the Torah on the execution stake of His final sacrifice! Now we know we will never die, so now we can love Torah and let it kill our flesh! Now we can let Yahweh peal away our sin nature and replace it with His nature! The fear of death is gone, so we can now walk hand in hand with our Heavenly Father, Abba, Daddy!

We can also walk hand in hand with our brother Judah, the Jews, the Hebrews. We just need to introduce them to their Savior and Messiah, Yahshua, Jesus Christ! The Word says He reconciled Hebrews and Gentiles into one body through the execution stake. That final act of love by Yahshua, His self-sacrifice on the execution stake killed any and all hostility between the members of Yahweh’s family, Hebrew and Gentile, and between all of us and His Torah. It’s time to get over ourselves and work together introducing our world to Yahweh and His Son Yahshua!

1 Corinthians 15:31 (NKJV) “I affirm, by the boasting in you which I have in Messiah Yahshua our Master, I die daily.” Galatians 2:20 (NKJV) I have been crucified with Messiah; it is no longer I who live, but Messiah lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of Yahweh, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Yahshua said in Matthew 10:39 (NKJV) He who finds his life will lose (destroy fully, perish) it, and he who loses (destroys) his life for My sake will find it.”  Matthew 16:24-27 (NKJV) “Then Yahshua said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross (die to self!!), and follow Me. 25For whoever desires to save his life will lose (destroy) it, but whoever loses (destroys) his life for My sake will find it. 26For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 27For the Son of Man will come [Yahshua Advent 2.0] in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.”

You don’t want to miss out on the final climax to human history, give your life to Yahshua today and watch what He does with you!

Sermon on Mount Sinai

Sermon on Mount Sinai

First, let’s share a few examples of Exodus 19:1 in different translations:

New King James Version: Exodus 19:1 In the third month after the children of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on the same day, they came to the Wilderness of Sinai.”

New Century Version: “Exactly three months after the Israelites had left Egypt, they reached the Desert of Sinai.”

Common English Bible: “On exactly the third-month anniversary of the Israelites’ leaving the land of Egypt, they came into the Sinai desert.”

The Jerusalem Bible: “Three months after they came out of the land of Egypt . . . on that day the sons of Israel came to the wilderness of Sinai.”

From Yahweh and Moses’ dating in Numbers 33:3, we know EXACTLY what day the children of Israel left the land of Egypt, “Numbers 33:3 (NKJV) “They departed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the day after the Passover the children of Israel went out with boldness in the sight of all the Egyptians.”

The emphasis in Exodus 19:1 is on the leaving the land of Egypt, which Moses dated as Abib 15, in the year of the Exodus. EXACTLY three months later, the children of Israel arrived at the Wilderness of Sinai in northwest Arabia, on Sivan 15. The phrase “on that day”, or “the same day” identifies, or modifies, which day in relation to coming out of the land of Egypt.

If Yahweh or Moses had wanted to tell us that they meant Sivan 1, they would have used phraseology like in Exodus 40:2 (NKJV) “On the first day (echad yom chodesh) of the first month (rishon chodesh) you shall set up the tabernacle of the tent of meeting.” or Exodus 40:17 (NKJV) “And it came to pass in the first month of the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was raised up.” Moses stated “echad yom chodesh” or the first day of the new moon. In 40:2 and 17, the word chodesh is actually used twice in the Hebrew, as in first day new moon of the first month, specifically identifying Abib 1. In Exodus 19:1, the emphasis was not on Sivan 1 as the first day of the third month, but on the day the Israelites came out of the land of Egypt, which was the 15th day of the month.

Here’s an interesting tidbit. By Sivan 15 in the first year of the Exodus, the children of Israel had only observed their FIRST FOUR SABBATHS, under the Manna Miracle guidelines. From Exodus 16, we learn that the first re-synchronizing Sabbath was on Iyar 22, second Sabbath on Iyar 29, third Sabbath on Sivan 6, fourth Sabbath on Sivan 13, just two days before arriving at the Wilderness of Sinai!! The children of Israel were just beginning to get a handle on Sabbath, Shavuot had not even been mentioned yet!!

If I am not mistaken, the first mention of the Feast of Shavuot, or the Feast of Weeks, was during Yahweh’s Sermon on Mount Sinai during His 10 Commandments presentation, in Exodus 23:14-17 (NKJV) “Three times you shall keep a feast to Me in the year: 15You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread (you shall eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded you, at the time appointed in the month of Abib, for in it you came out of Egypt; none shall appear before Me empty); 16and the Feast of Harvest, the firstfruits of your labors which you have sown in the field; and the Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you have gathered in the fruit of your labors from the field. 17Three times in the year all your males shall appear before Sovereign Yahweh.” Notice, neither Yahweh nor Moses elaborated on the details of these Feasts at this time. I began to wonder why not. Based on the resynchronizing Sabbaths found in Exodus 16, I believe the Sermon on Mount Sinai was given on the 5th resynchronizing Sabbath, on Sivan 20! When the children of Israel arrived at Sinai, it was on Sivan 15, which was weekday 2, a Monday, based on Exodus 16 and the Manna Miracle. Reading Exodus 19, you see that there are several days taken up with Moses ascending and descending Mount Sinai, giving Yahweh’s words to the people, and taking the people’s answer back to Yahweh, then in verses 10-11, “Then Yahweh said to Moses, “Go to the people and consecrate them today [Thursday] and tomorrow [Friday, the day to gather the double portion of manna!], and let them wash their clothes. 11And let them be ready for the third day [Shabbat]. For on the third day Yahweh will come down upon Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people.” You see three days spoken of, the third day of which would be Shabbat, an assembly day, when Yahweh met with the children of Israel and delivered to them the 10 Commandments, Sivan 20!! Gosh, Exodus 20 given on Sivan 20, who would have thought!! According to the Exodus timeline from Passover, this Sermon on Mount Sinai occurred 12 days AFTER the Feast of Shavuot would have concluded. But the children of Israel in the wilderness at that time KNEW NOTHING ABOUT COUNTING THE 50 DAYS, so they did not miss out on anything related to Shavuot, a Promised Land harvest Feast.

Let me share with you now why I believe the Sermon on Mount Sinai took place on Shabbat. The Sermon on Mount Sinai takes up Exodus chapters 20, 21, 22, and 23, through 24:3. Exodus 24:3 (NKJV) “So Moses came and told the people all the words of Yahweh and all the judgments. And all the people answered with one voice and said, “All the words which Yahweh has said we will do.”” Now look at the next verse Exodus 24:4 (NKJV) “And Moses wrote all the words of Yahweh. And he rose early in the morning, and built an altar at the foot of the mountain, and twelve pillars according to the twelve tribes of Israel.” The morning after Shabbat would be a Sunday morning, the 1st day of the week. Moses could not build an altar on Shabbat, but he did on the Sunday morning after Yahweh’s great sermon. Reading further in chapter 24, Exodus 24:16 (NKJV) “Now the glory of Yahweh rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day [Shabbat!!] He called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud.” Then of course verse 18 reveals that the Shabbat from verse 16 begins Moses’ FIRST 40-day fast on Mount Sinai with Yahweh. That would have been the 6th resynchronizing Sabbath, on Sivan 27, in the year of the Exodus.

The second time Shavuot was mentioned was in Exodus 34:22 (NKJV) “And you shall observe the Feast of Weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the year’s end.” And guess when Moses received this word in Exodus 34:22? It was during his SECOND 40 day fast up on the Mountain of Yahweh, some time in the 5th or 6th month of the first year of the Exodus, 2 to 3 months AFTER the Feast of Weeks would have concluded! And all he did was mention it. No details of the Feast were given at that time, either. Pretty amazing! I continue to wonder and ponder why not. Could it be that ONLY TWO OF THE MEN OF ISRAEL THEN LIVING would ever be able to OBSERVE A SHAVUOT IN THE PROMISED LAND, Joshua and Caleb? Do you realize that Moses never observed a Feast of Shavuot, or the Feast of Tabernacles? He never made it into the Promised Land, where these Feasts of Yahweh were to be observed. That should humble ever one of us living today. More likely though, is that the Tabernacle was not set up until the next year, so there was no need at that time to elaborate on the Feast of Shavuot or Tabernacles, future Feasts for the Promised Land.

If that is not shocking enough for our spirits, let’s look at when the Feast commands of Leviticus 23 were given. Soon after Moses’ 2nd 40 day fast up on the Mount with Yahweh, the Hebrews began to work on the Tabernacle, which as we know from Exodus 40:2 and 17 above, lasted until the first day of the second year of the Exodus. Then Yahweh filled the Tabernacle with His glory. THEN Yahweh began to teach Moses and the Israelites about how to worship Him in His holiness, thus we received Leviticus in the SECOND YEAR of the Exodus, about a year after the giving of the 10 Commandments!

Now, let’s find out when the Israelites were to begin celebrating the Feast of Weeks, Leviticus 23:10 (NKJV) “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you come into the land which I give to you, and reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest.’” The harvest festivals could not be observed until the Israelites were in the land of Canaan, at least 40 years AFTER the Exodus. Then they fought the Canaanite Wars for about 7 more years, just to conquer some of the Promised Land. THEN, they began to cultivate the promised land of Israel. Israel could not, and did not, celebrate the harvest Feasts while in the Wilderness for 40 years. So, to tie the giving of Torah to the Feast of Weeks is simply a tradition, and as I said, it’s a good tradition!

Did you notice something in this short post? You see how important sacred chronology is to understanding Yahweh’s word. Ask me sometime to tell you how and when Yahweh hooked me on His Sacred Chronology! I am totally hooked on Yahweh, Yahshua, and His Sacred Chronology, and I mean ADDICTED!! And you guessed it, I have a spreadsheet for that! My Sacred Chronology spreadsheet is about 6 feet wide and over 60 feet long, in e-speak. It is good, but nowhere near perfect. eCopies are free for the asking.

Happy Feast of Shavuot,
