Drowning in the Sea of Defiance

Drowning in the Sea of Defiance

Jeremiah 5, ““Run to and fro through the streets of (defiant) Jerusalem;

See now and know;

And seek in her open (defiant) places

If you can find a (righteous, holy) man,

If there is anyone who executes judgment,

Who seeks the truth,

And I will pardon her.

2  Though they say, ‘As Yahweh lives,’

Surely they (defiantly) swear falsely.”

3  O Yahweh, are not Your eyes on the truth?

You have stricken them,

But they have not grieved;

You have consumed them,

But they have (defiantly) refused to receive correction.

They have (defiantly) made their faces harder than rock;

They have (defiantly) refused to return.

4  Therefore I said, “Surely these are (defiant and spiritually) poor.

They are (defiantly) foolish;

For they do not know the way of Yahweh,

The judgment of their Mighty One.

5  I will go to the great men and speak to them,

For they have known the way of Yahweh,

The judgment of their Mighty One.”

But these (defiant ones) have altogether (defiantly) broken the yoke

And (defiantly) burst the bonds.

6  Therefore a lion from the (Lebanese = Muslim) forest shall slay them,

A wolf of the (Syrian and Arabian = Muslim) deserts shall destroy them;

A(n) (Iranian = Muslim) leopard will watch over their (defiant) cities.

Everyone who goes out from there shall be torn in pieces,

Because their (defiant) transgressions are many;

Their (defiant) backslidings have increased.

7  “How shall I pardon you for this (defiance)?

Your children have (defiantly) forsaken Me

And (defiantly) sworn by those that are not mighty ones.

When I had fed them to the full,

Then they (defiantly) committed adultery

And (defiantly) assembled themselves by (defiant) troops in the (defiant) harlots’ houses.

8  They were like well-fed lusty (defiant) stallions;

Every one (defiantly) neighed after his (defiant) neighbor’s wife.

9  Shall I not punish them for these (defiant) things?” says Yahweh.

“And shall I not avenge Myself on such a (defiant) nation as this?

10 “Go up on her (defiant) walls and destroy,

But do not make a complete end.

Take away her (defiant and rebellious) branches,

For they are not Yahweh’s (branches).

11 For the house of Israel (America and the former British Empire) and the house of Judah (modern Israel)

Have (defiantly) dealt very treacherously with Me,” says Yahweh.

12 They have (defiantly) lied about Yahweh,

And (defiantly) said, “It is not He.

Neither will evil come upon us,

Nor shall we see sword or famine.

13 And the prophets become wind,

For the word is not in them.

Thus shall it be done to them.”

14Therefore thus says Yahweh Mighty One of hosts:

“Because you speak this word,

Behold, I will make My words in your mouth fire,

And this (defiant) people wood,

And it shall devour them.

15 Behold, I will bring a (defiant) nation against you from afar,

O house of Israel,” says Yahweh.

“It is a mighty (defiant) nation,

It is an ancient (defiant) nation,

A (defiant) nation whose language you do not know,

Nor can you understand what they say.

16 Their (defiant) quiver is like an open (defiant) tomb;

They are all mighty (defiant) men.

17 And they shall (defiantly) eat up your harvest and your bread,

Which your (defiant) sons and daughters should eat.

They shall (defiantly) eat up your flocks and your herds;

They shall (defiantly) eat up your vines and your fig trees;

They shall (defiantly) destroy your fortified (defiant) cities (hardened underground bunker cities, like the one under the Denver International Airport),

In which you trust, with the sword.

18“Nevertheless in those days,” says Yahweh, “I will not make a complete end of you. 19And it will be when you say, ‘Why does Yahweh our Mighty One do all these things to us?’ then you shall answer them, ‘Just as you have (defiantly) forsaken Me and (defiantly) served foreign gods in your land, so you shall serve (defiant) aliens in a land that is not yours.’

20 “Declare this in the (defiant) house of Jacob (America and Great Britain)

And proclaim it in (defiant) Judah (modern Israel), saying,

21 ‘Hear this now, O foolish (defiant) people,

Without understanding,

Who have eyes and see not,

And who have ears and hear not:

22 Do you not fear Me?’ says Yahweh.

‘Will you not tremble at My presence,

Who have placed the sand as the bound of the sea (of defiance),

By a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass beyond it?

And though its waves toss to and fro,

Yet they cannot prevail;

Though they (defiantly) roar, yet they cannot pass over it.

23 But this (defiant) people has a defiant (Hebrew: sawrar) and rebellious (Hebrew: mawraw) heart;

They have revolted (turned off Yahweh) and departed (walked away from Yahweh).

24 They do not say in their (defiant) heart,

“Let us now fear Yahweh our Mighty One,

Who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season.

He reserves for us the appointed weeks of the harvest.” (His fall Feasts begin tomorrow, but who acknowledges Yahweh or takes notice of His Feasts?)

25 Your (defiant) iniquities have turned these things away,

And your sins (of defiance) have withheld good from you.

26 ‘For among My people are found (defiantly) wicked men;

They lie in wait as one who (defiantly) sets snares;

They (defiantly) set a trap;

They (defiantly) catch men.

27 As a cage is full of birds,

So their (defiant) houses are full of deceit (fraud).

Therefore they have become (defiantly) great and grown (defiantly) rich.

28 They have (defiantly) grown fat, they are sleek (think slick defiant thoughts);

Yes, they surpass the (defiant) deeds of the wicked;

They (defiantly) do not plead the cause,

The cause of the fatherless;

Yet they (defiantly) prosper,

And the right of the needy they (defiantly) do not defend.

29 Shall I not punish them for these (defiant) things?’ says Yahweh.

‘Shall I not avenge Myself on such a (defiant) nation as this?’

30 “An astonishing and (defiantly) horrible thing

Has been (defiantly) committed in the land:

31 The prophets (defiantly) prophesy falsely,

And the (defiant) priests (defiantly) rule by their own (defiant) power;

And My (defiant) people love to have it so.

But what will you do in the end?

Oh Father, help me, the anointing is so heavy I can barely type. Where do I begin on such a topic? The spirit of this age is the spirit of defiance. It is the spirit of Satan; it is the spirit of anti-Messiah. The Arab spring was a spring of defiance, defiant rebels trying to put down defiant despots, in order to set up an even more defiant evil Islamic regime. Now we have defiant Palestinians (not even a unique ethnic people group), Muslim Arab, Jordanians, and Syrians, trying to create yet another defiant Islamic state in the Middle East. Folks, we are drowning in the sin of defiance. The sea of humanity today is nothing but a sea of defiance.

As a result of all this defiance against Yahweh, America, the former British Commonwealth nations, and modern Israel are melting down from within. Yahweh is using and will continue to use the murderous religion of Islam to punish His rebellious defiant children. The root of our problem is pride, the trunk of our sin is arrogance, but the branches, as mentioned by Jeremiah above, are defiance and rebellion. Notice Yahweh stated flatly that these branches are not His, therefore He will cut these branches off of His tree and burn them with fire. If you didn’t get that the first time reading through Jeremiah 5, read it again, and again.

Yahweh destroyed humanity the first time with water, but He has promised to destroy us in these last days by fire. That fire will be in the form of His Word, preached by at least His two witnesses. It will be by fire from the heavens, as we just saw in the last couple days, by asteroids, comets, Planet Xs, and the like. It will be by the fire of nuclear war, and just plain old wildfires. Why is Yahweh using fire against the earth? Because fire cleanses, it purifies. Why would Yahweh want to cleanse or purify the earth? Because He plans on living here, among His people, forever. Sin will not stand in the presence of Yahweh, therefore He burns it up, ultimately in the Lake of Fire. Defiance is sin, therefore Yahweh must burn it up too. If you are associated with defiance, as most humans are, then you will be burned up as well.

The good news is that once Yahweh is finished burning up sin and sinners, He’s going to renew this earth back to the state of perfection it was in at creation. We are going back to the Garden of Eden; the Garden of Eden will be given back to us. Don’t worry, little children of Yahweh, your Heavenly Father is preparing a Kingdom for you and will soon bring that Kingdom to earth. In that day there will be perfect health, peace, and prosperity for all eternity. Trust Yahweh, not yourself, your government, or your myriad idols. So, instead of drowning in the Sea of Defiance, learn to swim in the grace of Yeshua by the power of the Holy Spirit. The devil is just angry because he knows he only has a short time left. You, on the other hand, should rejoice, because you only have a short time left on this evil planet in this sinful condition. Your corruptible will soon put on incorruption, your mortal body will soon be made immortal. That fact really ticks off the devil, but should make you jump and shout praises to Yahweh!!

Blow your trumpet in Zion!!

Possibly My Last Blog

Possibly My Last Blog

Sorry I haven’t blogged in awhile, I’ve been working and studying. I was blessed to come across some teaching about Hezekiah and Sennacherib’s encounters back in the 8th century BCE. Hezekiah encountered Sennacherib two times as a test of his heart. 2 Chronicles 32:25, “But Hezekiah did not repay according to the favor shown him, for his heart was lifted up; therefore wrath was looming over him and over Judah and Jerusalem.” In the first encounter, Hezekiah trusted in himself and his military might and saved Judah by paying tribute to Sennacherib. By the second encounter, Hezekiah had humbled himself and let Yahweh destroy Sennacherib’s army. Sennacherib came against Hezekiah twice, once in Hezekiah’s 14th year, 715 BCE, as Tartan for his father Sargon II, King of Assyria, and once again in Hezekiah’s 27th year, 702 BCE, as King of Assyria, when Yahweh killed 185,000 of Sennacherib’s soldiers and he went home in disgrace, never to leave Nineveh again. You know the story found in 2 Kings 18-20; Isaiah 36-39; and 2 Chronicles 32. Sennacherib didn’t get the chance to besiege Jerusalem in 715 BCE, but he did coerce a hefty tribute out of Hezekiah. 715 was the year Hezekiah got sick and Yahweh added 15 years to his life, so we know he reigned the 29 years as mentioned in these Scriptures. But in 702 BCE, Sennacherib did lay siege to Jerusalem, but Yahweh delivered Jerusalem and Judah from his clutches. What Gordon Franz of brings out in his teaching is that Isaiah uses a literary device called a chiasm that let’s us know that Isaiah’s prophecy of the Sabbatical and Jubilee years in Isa. 37:30 and 2 Kings 19:29 occurred in 702/701 BCE. This is the only place in Scripture where a Jubilee is practically spoken about. Why is this significant? Because this Sabbatical year and 18th Jubilee (after the Jordan River crossing by Joshua) that Isaiah prophesied to Hezekiah ties to every other Jubilee and Sabbatical year in biblical and modern history! The true Scriptural Sabbatical years occur ONE YEAR AFTER the Jewish calendar Shmita, or Sabbatical, years.

So what? Well, World War II ended just before the 72nd Jubilee began on Yom Kippur in 1945. 49 years later, just before the start of the 73rd Jubilee in 1994, the comet Shoemaker-Levy broke up and hit Jupiter with 21 pieces, beginning on July 16, 1994, causing the greatest explosions ever witnessed in our solar system! The 9th of Av occurred during the week these pieces were hitting Jupiter. The first atomic bomb was test exploded on July 16, 1945. Is there a relationship? Was the comet Shoemaker-Levy one of Yeshua’s signs in the heavens? Possibly, 21 years after 1994 will be 2015 CE. What’s so significant about 2015? Well, for one thing Yom Kippur 2015 is exactly 49 360-day years (17,640 days) after the Jews recaptured their Temple Mount on June 7, 1967. So, in a very real sense, 2015 could begin a Jubilee on one of Yahweh’s divine calendars and the Shoemaker-Levy may be one of Yeshua’s signs in the heavens to get our attention pointed to His calendar. For more on this series of Jubilee years see W. Glenn Moore’s website at

The fall feasts are upon us. Happy Yom Teruah. Blow your trumpet and watch and pray.

As always, I’m brokenhearted that I’ve missed celebrating the Jubilee that has occurred in my lifetime, but I won’t miss the next one. But as far as signs in the heavens go, we are expecting to be hit or nearly missed by an asteroid tomorrow, September 27, 2011 CE. This asteroid’s tracking number is 2011-SE58. Check it out at If this asteroid hits us and kills me, I won’t be blogging any more, but let’s pray for peace and safety for all of us. The timing is interesting, because President Obama will be hiding out in the underground bunker city under the Denver International Airport under the guise of a Defcon 1 military exercise. Our Congress and many parliaments around the world will be in recess over the next week. Many corporate CEOs are also hiding out somewhere, maybe with Obama. This asteroid, if it hits, may just cause an earthquake, or destroy one city, but be warned and prepared. Planet X was supposed to cause problems today, September 26, 2011, but the day’s not over yet. We could still experience an extinction level event this week. Watch and pray.

But on to more interesting things. Have you ever heard of the Catholic St. Malachy? Well, apparently, back in 1139 CE he went to Rome and had a vision while there. He prophesied of the last 112 popes to rule before the Judge shows up to judge the world. So what? Well, Pope Benedict XVI, elected in 2005, is the 111th pope from St. Malachy’s prophesy!! The last pope, number 112, will have a name, or motto, something like Petrus Romanus. So what you say? Well, the Vatican is preparing the selection list for the next pope to replace Benedict XVI, who is quite old now. One of the cardinals they are looking at for election is a black man by the name of Cardinal Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson of Ghana!!! A black pope by the name Peter or Petrus may be the next and last pope in human history! Watch and pray! For more on this get Peter Bander’s book: The Prophecies of St Malachy. Buy the book here: You may think this is nothing, but consider this, Peter Turkson, the son of a carpenter, speaks six languages, including English, German and Hebrew, understands Latin and Greek, and was born in 1948. What did Yeshua say in Matthew 24:32-34, “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 33So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors! 34Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place.” Israel is the fig tree and became a nation again in 1948! There are no coincidences with Yahweh. This is Turkson’s generation, he may be a man of great destiny. Watch and pray. For details go to these links: <1 <2

You know I believe America’s economy is down the drain, we’re not about to fall over the cliff, we’ve been flushed down the toilet. We’re in the sewer system, we’re crashing on the rocks now. Don’t believe me, just check out 30 reasons why I believe this at:

Have a beautiful week in Yahweh!!

What the State of Palestine Will Look Like

Reposted from

Opinion: The Famous State of Palestine

What would Arab state number 23/ Muslim state number 58 be like? Giulio Meotti takes a good look.

By Giulio Meotti

First Publish: 9/19/2011, 11:11 PM

Global leaders are so busy speaking of how essential it is for a “State of Palestine” to be founded that none of them seems to have noticed that it already exists in practice in the Palestinian Authority. Since the Palestinian Authority was established in 1994, the contours of the “State of Palestine” that they wish have taken form in front of our eyes.

So what will this famous “State of Palestine” be like?

It will be a racist state ethnically cleansed of Jews, as the PLO representatives proclaimed the last week.

It will be a state led by Holocaust enablers like Hamas or by a Holocaust-denier like Mahmoud Abbas, who in a book downgraded the number of Jewish victims and denied that the gas chambers were used to murder Jews.

In any case, it will be a state committed to the destruction of the nearby Jews’ homeland.

A state that will banish freedom of conscience for artists, journalists and writers. A state that will drive away Christians from the land, while proclaiming Jesus “the first fedayeen”.

A state that will stone to death Arab homosexuals and prostitutes, who are now finding a shelter in Israel. A state that will torture Arab inmates in prisons and that will throw political dissidents from the roofs of public buildings.

A state where the Iranian clergy will preach the Khomeinist ideology. A state that will accept checks and support from the genocidal Muslim Brotherhood in the name of “the caliphate or death”, as the Islamists who assassinated Egypt’s Anwar Sadat in 1981 decorated their holding cages.

A state where the sharia – the Islamic code – will be the only rule of law. A state that will be put to death human beings simply because guilty of apostasy (conversion to Christianity). A state where the women will be obliged to wear headscarves. A state where “honor killings” will terrorize the female population.

A state that will commemorate terrorists, human bombs and baby killers in public squares, streets and monuments.

A state that will not hold democratic elections, but that will be a combination of corruption, dictatorship, Islamic theology and “binladenism”.

A state where terror militias will cut fingers off smokers.

A state where public libraries will become the largest global archive of anti-Semitic books.

A state that will ban drinking in public buildings. A state where liquor stores will be blown up by terror groups.

A state where men will be banned from women’s hair salons.

A state where security forces will arrest people for expressing opinions unpopular with the regime, as well as punishing media organizations and journalists for their coverage of such statements.

A state where the ratio of militiamen/men- under-arms to civilians will be higher than in any other country. A state where worshipers in mosques will be gunned down by terrorists.

A state that will encourage a new category of Arab refugees, those who would gladly escape oppressive and murderous Palestinian control.

A state where ambulances will be stopped on the way to hospitals and wounded will be shot in cold blood. A state that would be a heavily armed union of rejectionists all dedicated to destroying the shards of Western values.

A state where young couples will not walk hand in hand in the Al Manar Square of Ramallah and where plainclothes officers will halt them in the streets, demanding to see marriage licenses.

A state that will declare war on Judaism, depicting Jewish history in the Middle East as no more than an insignificant, brief sojourn by arrogant colonizers.

Who would live in such a state? So why the world is dribbling at the mouth about the creation of a “State of Palestine”?

Is it because Arab state number 23 and Muslim state number 58 will be the perfect tool for the evaporization of the lone Jewish state in the world?

6 miles is the distance between the Israeli city of Afula and the “State of Palestine”. 9 miles to the city of Netanya. 11 miles to reach the skycrapers of Tel Aviv. 4 miles to bomb the Ben Gurion International Airport. Just a mile to the city of Kfar Saba.

Building the small Palestinian caliphate on Israel’s shoulders is the first step of throwing the Jews in the sea.

Isaiah 13 – Again Lord?

Isaiah 13 – Again Lord?

I don’t know how many times the Master has given us Isaiah 13 over the last couple years, but it would scare me, if I were the fearful type. Isaiah 13 describes the end of Babylon, the ancient kingdom. If Yahweh is telling us to read Isaiah 13 today, it can only mean He is about to bring an end to Mystery Babylon, which we now know is America. Pray for America. If America votes the wrong way this week in regards to a new United Nations member state called Palestine, America may be surprised to find herself facing even more and greater disasters again in 2011. I just heard a report the other day that stated America has seen 82 natural disasters so far in 2011 CE, costing 10s of billions of dollars in damage. We usually have about 34 per year. If you don’t believe Yahweh is trying to warn America through nature this year, rethink your theology and read Isaiah 13 . . . again.

The ancient empire of Babylon did not last long and will never rise again. America has wasted 8 years of her strength in Iraq and gained nothing but a strengthened Islamic enemy. We have wasted 10 years of our strength in Afghanistan and only have a stronger Islamic enemy to show for it, yet these wars have cost us trillions of dollars and thousands of American lives.  That Islamic enemy is the rising empire of Iran as the king of the South from Daniel 11. America has not been around long either and may not make it much further. We are bankrupt spiritually, morally, militarily, politically, and financially. Yahweh and the biblical family structure have been tossed aside for violence and perversion. Friends, you don’t abort your future businessmen and women and tax payers and then expect to reach the illusory American Dream, whatever that was supposed to be.

Anyway, watch and pray for the peace of Jerusalem and a spiritual awakening in Israel, America, and Great Britain. I fully expect to see World War III erupt before the end of the year, maybe even before the end of this month. Israel has been at war since 1948, and will see war explode and expand from this week forward. Yahweh wants all humans to believe in Yeshua and trust in Him for their soul’s salvation. If it takes war to humble Israel, Great Britain, and America, Yahweh knows how to bring it about. Yahweh and all the tribes of Israel have a covenant, but it includes trusting in the Messiah that Yahweh has sent and will send again soon. It won’t be long before every eye will see Him, but that day may be too late for many souls. Zechariah 12:8-10, “In that day Yahweh will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; the one who is feeble among them in that day shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like Yahweh, like the Angel of Yahweh before them. 9It shall be in that day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. 10“And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.”

Ancient Babylon has fallen has fallen. America is falling is falling. Revelation 14:8, “And another angel followed, saying, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.”” Revelation 18:1-3, “After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory. 2And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! 3For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.”” America is the only nation in human history that fits the description of verse 3.

Watch out Americans, Daddy is breaking out the rod of discipline. Isaiah 13:6-9, “Wail, for the day of Yahweh is at hand!

It will come as destruction from the Almighty.

7  Therefore all hands will be limp,

Every man’s heart will melt,

8  And they will be afraid.

Pangs and sorrows will take hold of them;

They will be in pain as a woman in childbirth;

They will be amazed at one another;

Their faces will be like flames.

9  Behold, the day of Yahweh comes,

Cruel, with both wrath and fierce anger,

To lay the land desolate;

And He will destroy its sinners from it.”

You dump Yahweh, Yahweh dumps you, it’s pretty simple to understand.

We’ve written several times about the dividing up of Yahweh’s land in the Middle East. Not a good idea, a fatal mistake for nations. Joel 3:1-2, “For behold, in those days and at that time,

When I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem,

2 I will also gather all nations,

And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat;

And I will enter into judgment with them there

On account of My people, My heritage Israel,

Whom they have scattered among the nations;

They have also divided up My land.”

What does Joel 3 teach us? Dividing up Yahweh’s land of Israel brings down Yahweh’s judgment upon the nations that do the dividing. Let’s see now, how many nations are there in the United Nations? 193, or now 194, if you count a new State of Palestine. So, 194 nations, minus Israel, leaves 193 nations conspiring to divide up Yahweh’s land, and therefore preparing themselves to face the judgment of Almighty Yahweh. Wisdom is not found in the masses. Isaiah 13:11-13, “I will punish the world for its evil,

And the wicked for their iniquity;

I will halt the arrogance of the proud,

And will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

12  I will make a mortal more rare than fine gold,

A man more than the golden wedge of Ophir.

13  Therefore I will shake the heavens,

And the earth will move out of her place,

In the wrath of Yahweh of hosts

And in the day of His fierce anger.”

193 nations minus 193 nations equal ZERO nations. Maranatha, even so, come Master Yeshua. Only a remnant will survive Isaiah 13. Matthew 7:14, “Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Time is up for repenting. Daniel’s 70th week is upon us. The two witnesses will be here soon. Rapture time is here. All the bad news is good news for those who trust in Yeshua, so have a nice life.

The Future Ministry of God’s Two Witnesses

The Future Ministry of God’s Two Witnesses

By Pastor F. M. Riley

       3    And I will give power unto My two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

4     These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.

     5      And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.

     6    These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

     7    And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

     8    And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

     9    And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and a half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.

     10    And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.

     11    And after three days and a half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.

     12    And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither.  And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.

                                                                                     Revelation 11:3-12

    On May 14, 1948 Israel became a nation again nearly 1,900 years after the Jews had been driven from their homeland and scattered among the nations of the world.  Students of Bible prophecy recognized that Israel’s national restoration marked “the beginning of the end” in God’s great plan of the ages.  Glory!  Since the national restoration of Israel volumes have been written about the various end-time prophecies, particularly as to how they relate to Israel.

In this study it is my desire to share prophetic truth which is familiar to our readers, yet which is seldom studied in depth; the ministry and identity of God’s “two witnesses.”  The right understanding of the role of these “two witnesses” in end-time events will clarify other portions of God’s prophetic Word.  Let us begin…..

In Malachi 4:5-6 the Lord told the Jews,

“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord:  And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”

    This portion of Scripture sets forth three important facts:

1.      It is clearly stated WHO God will send back to Israel…..”Elijah the prophet.”

2.      It is clearly stated WHEN God will send Elijah…..”before the great and dreadful day of the Lord.”

3.      It is clearly stated WHY God will send Elijah…..”he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”

Now let’s carefully examine these three statements.

The Scripture plainly states that it will be “Elijah the prophet” that God will send to Israel.  It is significant that many religious Jews accept Malachi’s prophecy as literal truth. They actually look for, long for, and believe that Elijah will appear on the world scene before the Messiah arrives. They are expecting the very same Elijah who opposed Ahab and Jezebel, and who was caught up into the heavens in a chariot of fire.  Elijah’s literal return is what the Scripture predicts, and there is plenty of Scriptural evidence to believe Malachi’s prophecy will be literally fulfilled.

Some today attempt to deny the literal fulfillment of Malachi’s prophecy by claiming that John the Baptist was the fulfillment of the prophecy.  They teach that Elijah has already come in the person of John.  Let’s just see if the Word of God actually supports such a view.

Facts About John the Baptist

    First, let’s notice the birth of John the Baptist.  In Luke 1:13-17 we find an angel predicting the birth of John.  In verse 17 the angel says,

    “And he shall go before Him in the spirit and power of Elias [Elijah], to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”

    Notice that it is “in the spirit and power of Elias” [Elijah] that John the Baptist was to go forth.  This Scripture no where states that John would be Elijah, or that he would fulfill Malachi’s prophecy.  It was only the same “spirit and power” that rested upon Elijah that was to rest upon John.  That was the Spirit and power of the Lord.  Elijah exercised God’s power during his ministry, 2 kings 2:9.  The same power of God was to rest upon John the Baptist during his ministry.  To use this Scripture to teach that John was Elijah, and thus fulfilled Malachi’s prophecy, is to teach error.  As proof of this statement let’s hear from John himself…..

John 1:19-24 contains the record of the priests and Levites coming to John and specifically asking him, “Who art thou?”  “Art thou Elias [Elijah]?”  John replied to their question by emphatically stating, “I am not.”  Isn’t it strange that some today insist that John was Elijah, in spite of John’s emphatic declaration that he was not Elijah?  One would think that a person would surely know who he is.  What this suggests is that John was either mentally unbalanced and really didn’t realize that he was actually Elijah, or…..some Bible teachers are spiritually unbalanced due to their lack of serious Bible study.  I leave it to our readers to decide whether to believe the inspired Word or the uninspired claims of fallible men.

Second, notice the teaching of Christ Himself concerning John’s ministry in relation to Elijah.  In Matthew 11:7-19 the Lord stated, “And if ye will receive it [him], this is Elijah which was for to come.”  Did Israel receive John, or his teaching?  Not according to the Lord!  The Lord Himself clearly stated, “For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.”  Does this sound like Israel received John?

In Matthew 17:12 the Lord said, “…..Elias [Elijah] is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed.  Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.  Then the disciples understood that He spake unto them of John the Baptist.”  In this passage the Lord clearly stated that John was rejected of Israel, and that He Himself would suffer “of them” like John had suffered.  Who put Christ to death?  Was it not the unbelieving Jews?  And who ultimately put John to death?  Was it not a ruler of the Jews?  The Lord said that John was Elijah “if” he should be received.  John was not received, but rather was rejected and put to death.  Therefore John did not fulfill the prophecy of Malachi regarding the coming of Elijah.

Third, let’s let the leaders of Israel themselves testify.  In Matthew 21:23-27 the chief priests and elders came to Christ, demanding to know the source of His authority.  Christ answered them by asking, “The baptism of John, whence was it?  from heaven, or of men?”  The Scriptures tell us that they reasoned with themselves, “….saying, if we shall say, From heaven; He will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?”  Here is an open admission by the wicked leaders of Israel themselves that they did not receive John the Baptist, neither his message nor the Messiah whom he preached.  It is then Scripturally impossible for John the Baptist to have fulfilled Malachi 4:5-6.  John the Baptist filled the role of Elijah only for those who received him.

But let our readers keep in mind that Christ did say that Elijah would come.  In Matthew 17:11 the Lord said, “…..Elias [Elijah] truly shall first come, and restore all things.”  This is recorded a second time in Mark 9:12, “…..Elias [Elijah] verily cometh first, and restoreth all things.”  Since John the Baptist was not received, then he did not fulfill Malachi’s prophecy, or this prediction of Christ.  The religious Jews are then correct in still expecting the coming of Elijah.  We can then conclude that Elijah himself is yet to return to Israel, exactly as prophesied in Malachi.

    In Malachi 4:5 the Lord said,

“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord:…”

 While the term, “the day of the Lord,” always refers to the future seven year Tribulation [and beyond], certain expressions occur in the Scriptures that make it clear that the Tribulation itself is divided into two periods of time.

The Two Hours

For instance, the first half of the Tribulation is referred to as “the hour of temptation,” Revelation 3:10, but the last half of the Tribulation is referred to as “the hour of His judgment,” Revelation 14:7.  In other words, the first three and a half years are a time when all of humanity will be tested [peirasmos] to see if they will turn to the Lord in the midst of great catastrophes and plagues that are being poured out upon the earth.   The answer to that question is found in Revelation 9:20-21.  Because most of humanity will refuse to repent during the first half of the Tribulation, the Lord will then proceed to judge humanity during the last half of the Tribulation, Isaiah 26:21.  It is the last half of the Tribulation which would then indeed be “the great and dreadful day of the Lord.”

The Time of Trouble

     This truth is again made evident in Daniel 12:1.  “And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time:…..”  By carefully studying the context in which this passage occurs, and by comparing this passage with Revelation 12:7-17, it is evident that this event occurs near or at the middle of the Tribulation.  Therefore the “time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation…” will begin at the middle of the Tribulation and extend through the last half of the Trib.   And why shouldn’t there be terrible trouble during the last half?  Old Satan, the Devil himself, will be literally cast down and limited to the surface of the earth during the last half of the Trib.  God have mercy upon those who are still living upon the earth during that terrible time of trouble. See Revelation 12:12 and be warned

The Abomination of Desolation

Then the Lord Himself clearly stated in Matthew 24:21, in the context of events which follow the setting up of “the abomination of desolation” [verse 15], “For then shall be great tribulation [trouble], such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.”  The Lord here was speaking about the last half of the Tribulation, for it is at the middle of the Trib that “the image of the beast” is erected in the courtyard of the Jewish Temple, Revelation 13:14-15.  This “image of the beast” is “the abomination that maketh desolate,” Daniel 11:31.  Compare Mark 13:14-19.  When that “abomination” is set up in the courtyard of the Jewish Temple, the Jews will have to flee for their lives, and the whole land of Israel will become “desolate” during the last half of the Tribulation.  This is clear enough if folks would just quit “theorizing” and take God’s Word at face value for what it actually and literally says and teaches.

The phrase, “the great and dreadful day of the Lord,” then specifically refers to the last three and a half years of the seven year Tribulation.  It will be a time of trouble for the whole world, such as was previously unknown in all of human history, a time in which Almighty God will judge all the unrepentant, incorrigible wicked of the earth.  It will be the time when God’s “fury shall come up” in His face, Ezekiel 38:18; Nahum 1:6; Revelation 11:14-19.  During that last half of the Tribulation the Lord will pour out great and terrible judgments upon this earth unlike anything ever previously seen or known by mankind.  Now keep in mind that Elijah is to be sent back to Israel before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord…”  Therefore it is obvious that Elijah [and the second witness] will be sent back to minister to Israel [and the world] during the first half of the Tribulation.

A Supernatural Ministry

    In Revelation 11:1-14 it is recorded that God’s “two witnesses” will minister in the city of Jerusalem.  This portion of Scripture sets forth some unusual facts about these “two witnesses” and their ministry.  Let’s notice them…..

First, the “two witnesses” are specifically called “two prophets,” 11:10.  During the Tribulation these “two prophets” will bear witness of Christ.  They will definitely prophesy [preach] about the very soon coming Kingdom of the Lord, 11:3; 11:6.  Such a prospect looming on the horizon will certainly be a “torment” to the wicked world planners, 11:10.  The “two prophets” will faithfully give testimony for the Lord, 11:7.  If these “two witnesses” are to be identified, then we must look among those of the past who were true “prophets” of God.

Second, the “two witnesses” receive and exercise supernatural, miraculous powers from God during their ministry.

1.       They are given miraculous, supernatural powers of protection.  Those who attempt to hinder or harm the “two witnesses” will be killed by fire issuing right out of the mouths of the “two witnesses.”  Doesn’t God say that His Word is “as a fire”?  Read Jeremiah 20:9 and 23:29.  Doesn’t God’s Word “burn” in the hearts of people when it is faithfully proclaimed? Read Luke 24:32. Yes, I am aware that these are symbolic terms, but what is to stop Almighty God from transforming the spiritual fire of His Word into literal fire, when such is needed to protect His servants?  Well…?

2.       The “two witnesses” are given miraculous, supernatural powers to shut up the heavens during their ministry, 11:6.  Not a drop of rain will fall upon the earth during their ministry. Talk about a drought!  Humanity has never seen anything like the worldwide drought that is coming during the first half of the Tribulation.  Compare Joel 1:8-20 and be warned.

3.      The “two witnesses” will be given miraculous, supernatural powers to turn the waters of the earth into blood, and to smite the earth with various plagues, at anytime they feel that such is needed, 11:6.  Wicked men right through the centuries [and even today] have loved to shed blood, especially the blood of God’s people [Habakkuk 1:14-17].  During the Trib the Lord will give them blood to drink, Revelation 8:7-11; 16:4-7.

4.       The “two witnesses,” while preaching only in the city of Jerusalem, will be given supernatural power to communicate their message to all the “people and kindreds and tongues and nations” upon the whole earth, 11:9-10. Today millions of wicked people don’t want to hear the message of God, but in that day it will not be stopped.  All will hear it!  There is no question that the preaching of the “two witnesses” will involve the miraculous, supernatural “gift” of “tongues,” a gift that is often corrupted, misused, and misunderstood today.  Everyone on earth in that day, in their own language and dialect, will hear and understand what is being preached by the “two witnesses.” Those who have “hearing ears” [13:9] will repent and be saved, but those wicked souls who don’t want to hear will only be “tormented” [11:10] by the Word.  Praise the Lord!

Third, 11:3 tells us that the “two witnesses” will be unusual in their appearance.  They will be dressed in “sackcloth.”  Such clothing has been discarded by the whole human race today.  No one in any nation dresses in “sackcloth” today.  But the “two witnesses” will!  Sackcloth is a rough material woven from camel’s hair.  The Bible gives us numerous instances of it being worn by people as a sign of mourning and repentance, especially by God’s Old Testament prophets as they sought God’s mercy and proclaimed God’s message, calling ancient Israel to repentance before God.  What a contrast their clothing will be to the modern clothing of the western nations, which has been adopted by most of the people of the earth today.

Now notice how the past ministry of Elijah perfectly correlates with the future ministry of the “two witnesses.”

     The “two witnesses” are to be two prophets who have previously lived and ministered in the past.  It is a fact that Elijah was probably the greatest prophet that the Lord ever called to minister to Israel during the Old Testament dispensation, and Malachi 4:5-6 plainly predicts that he is to be sent back to Israel.

The “two witnesses” are miraculously protected by fire during their ministry.  Elijah was protected in a similar manner during his ministry, 2 Kings 1:1-18.

The “two witnesses” have power to stop and withhold the rain during their ministry.  Elijah also had such power during his ministry, 1 Kings 17:1; James 5:17-18.

The “two witnesses” will turn the waters of the earth into blood, and smite the earth with plagues.  Elijah also had such miracle working powers during his ministry.  See 1 Kings 17:8-16; 17:17-24, and 18:17-41.

    The ministry of the “two witnesses” will be an international ministry.  The Lord Himself pointed out that in ancient times Elijah ministered to the Gentiles as well as to the Jews, Luke 4:23-28.

The ministry of the “two witnesses” will be a “torment” to the wicked of the earth, just as the ministry of Elijah was a “torment” to wicked old Ahab and Jezebel, and to their followers, 1 Kings 18:17-18; 18:40; 21:20-24.

    Finally, the clothing worn by the “two witnesses” will be sackcloth.  That was the same type of clothing worn by Elijah during his ministry, 2 Kings 1:3-8.

     The ministry of the “two witnesses” and the ministry of Elijah coincide on every point. There is then sufficient Scriptural evidence to conclude that Elijah himself will be one of the “two witnesses” that the Lord will send back to minister to Israel [and the world] during the first half of the Tribulation.

    WHO will God send to Israel?  Elijah the prophet.  WHEN will God send Elijah back to Israel?  During the first half of the coming seven year Tribulation.  Now let’s notice WHY God will send him back.

    Malachi 4:6 says,

“And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

Isn’t it amazing that some 2,600 years ago Malachi revealed that there would be a “generation gap” in the end of this age?  See Micah 7:5-6, Matthew 10:21 and Mark 13:12.  And isn’t it amazing that such a generation gap is in existence today?

In order to understand this particular statement of Malachi, and the role that Elijah will play in fulfilling this prophecy, other factors that relate to our study need to be carefully examined.  So I call our reader’s attention to…..

Tribal Identity

    When the Lord brought the Israelites into their “promised land” some 3,500 years ago, He had Joshua divide the land among the respective tribes.  According to God’s Law the land they were given was to remain the possession of the particular tribe [and family] to whom it was given from generation to generation.

However He did not give the tribe of Levi a portion of land as their inheritance, for doing service for the Lord Himself was to be the inheritance of the Levites.  Then from the tribe of Levi the Lord chose Aaron and his descendants to serve as priests.  Aaron was chosen as the first “High Priest.”  His sons were the first “priests.”  According to God’s Law, from that time forward no tribe but the Levites could minister in the Tabernacle [and later in the Temple], and no Levite could serve as a priest or a High Priest, except the descendants of Aaron.

Because of the Law of Inheritance the tribal identity of the Israelites became very important to them.  Their genealogical records were carefully recorded and preserved.  According to Jewish history, these genealogical records were not only preserved by the respective Jewish families, but copies of them were laid up in the Tabernacle [and later in the Temple].  The importance of such records is emphasized in God’s Word in Ezra 2:59-63, Nehemiah 7:5-65, and several other places in God’s Word.

In the destruction of the Temple in 70 A.D. the genealogical records that were preserved there were destroyed, and the Jews were driven from their land.  With the Jew no longer in his land and the Temple no longer in existence, the genealogical records were of little value to the average Jew.  As the centuries passed many Jews assimilated into the Gentile nations into which they had been driven, adopting the languages, customs, politics, names, and sometimes even the religions of those nations.  Gradually tribal identity was lost by most of the Jews.  Because of this, the average Jew today has little idea and no real proof of their tribal identity.

Such a situation presents a real problem for the religious Jews who want to rebuild the Jewish Temple and restore the ancient worship of the Jewish people.  For many years there has been an ever-increasing desire among a remnant of religious Jews to rebuild the Temple.  Rabbis in Israel have actually trained young men to offer the sacrifices required by God in His Law.  These young men have been carefully selected from families with such names as Cohen, Levi, Gershon, etc., hoping that their names indicate that they are Levites.  If so, this would qualify them to serve and minister in a rebuilt Temple.  But there is no actual proof that these men are Levites.

Because there are no genealogical records, and therefore no actual proof that such men are Levites, not all religious Jews are willing to accept these men as Levites.  The Hasidic [Ultra-Orthodox] Jews have made it clear that they will accept nothing less than absolute proof of tribal identity.  They insist that God would never accept their Temple as His “house” unless only Levites served in it, and only a descendant of Aaron served as the High Priest.  So this is a major problem for the Jews that must be solved before they can actually rebuild the Temple and again offer sacrifices to Jehovah, the God of Israel, as they did in the ancient past.  Now how is this problem to be solved…?

The Antichrist Factor

    In Daniel 9:26-27 and 11:21-23 we are told about a deceitful king [the Antichrist] who will rise to power in the last days, and “confirm the covenant with many…”  This covenant is referred to six times in Daniel 11:22-32.  We do not know every detail agreed upon in this “covenant,” but the Scriptures give us enough information to conclude that this “covenant” will be some sort of “peace” agreement, which apparently will bring “peace” to the Middle East, specifically guaranteeing “peace” to Israel for a period of seven years.  That is exactly what the Jews in Israel have desired ever since they became a nation in 1948.  The tragedy is that unbelieving Israel really doesn’t understand what problems this forbidden “covenant” [Exodus 34:12; Deuteronomy 7:2] is going to bring upon them.  See 1 Thessalonians 5:3.  When this “covenant” goes into effect, the Jews will then [and only then] be in a position to rebuild their Temple.

The Scriptures clearly teach that a Temple will be in existence during the Tribulation, Revelation 11:1-2 and 2 Thessalonians 2:4.  They also teach that animal sacrifices will once more be offered upon the Temple altar.  See Daniel 8:11-14, 9:27, and 11:31.

     Therefore we can conclude that the problem of tribal identity will be resolved, and the Levitical priesthood will again function in the Temple.  In spite of the objections of some today, God will accept the rebuilt Temple as His “house.”  This statement is clearly proven by Revelation 11:1, “…Rise, and measure the temple of God…”  Keep in mind that this Scripture, like all Scripture, is inspired of God.  This Tribulation Temple will be “the temple of God” whether some folks like it or not.  The question then arises, how is all this is to be brought about?  How…?

To Restore All Things

    It obviously will not be brought about by the Antichrist.  The Scriptures imply that the Antichrist will allow the Jews to rebuild their Temple, and perhaps he will even assist them in rebuilding it.  But the motive of the Antichrist in allowing the Jews to rebuild the Temple is entirely different than God’s motive in inspiring a remnant of the Jews to rebuild it.  The Antichrist intends to use the rebuilt Temple to exalt himself as the object of worship for the Jews and the whole world.  But that is not God’s motive!  The Antichrist will ultimately be permitted to invade the Temple and sit down upon the mercy seat [throne], boasting that he is God, 2 Thessalonians 2:4. Yet Almighty God is going to upset all the plans of the Antichrist.

In Matthew 17:11 the Lord specifically stated, “Elias [Elijah] truly shall first come, and restore all things.”  A similar statement occurs in Mark 9:12.  This emphatic statement of the Lord makes it obvious that the major reason Elijah will be sent back to Israel will be to solve the problem of tribal identity, thus making it possible for the Temple to be rebuilt and the ancient worship of the Jews to be restored.  The “two witnesses” will divide the Jewish remnant into their respective tribes [Revelation 7:1-8], and will supervise the rebuilding of the Temple.

The fact that a remnant of the Jews will be divided into their respective tribes again right after the beginning of the Tribulation is beyond dispute.  Revelation 7:1-8 records the salvation and sealing of 144,000 Jews, 12,000 from each of the twelve tribes listed.  Some today would have us believe that the Lord miraculously seals the 144,000 without their ever experiencing His saving grace.  Not so!  God has only one way of salvation, John 14:6.  There is no sealing until there is first a receiving of Christ as Savior.  See Ephesians 1:12-14.  The fact that the 144,000 are the “first fruits” [the first people saved during the Tribulation] is clearly stated in Revelation 14:4.  This verse also tells us how they were saved; by believing on “the Lamb.”  Isn’t that how every lost person gets saved?  You know it is!

Folks, Elijah was the greatest prophet that God ever sent to Israel during the dispensation of Law, other than the Lord Jesus Christ Himself.  It was Elijah who called Israel to repentance when they had gone a whoring after the false gods of Ahab and Jezebel, 1 Kings 18.  It was Elijah who “repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down,” and prayed that God would “turn their hearts back again,” 1 Kings 18:30-37.  After Elijah had concluded his simple, humble prayer, “the fire of the Lord fell and consumed” his sacrifice, 1 Kings 18:38.  The Lord had accepted his offering on behalf of Israel.  Glory!

Who then is better qualified than “Elijah the prophet” to once again call Israel to repentance before God, and “restore all things” pertaining to the ancient worship of the Lord God of Israel?  Who is better qualified to supervise and direct the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple than Elijah [and the second “witness”]?  And when the Tribulation Temple is rebuilt, who is better qualified to pray the dedicatory prayer than Elijah?  And “the fire of the Lord” will once again fall to consume the sacrifice and light the fires of the altar burning before the Temple.  Glory!  Praise the Lord!  Hallelujah!

Folks, this is why “Elijah the prophet” will be sent back to Israel again as one of God’s “two witnesses.”  Now let’s see if we can identify…..

    The Scriptures clearly reveal that “Elijah the prophet” will be one of the “two witnesses.”  But can the second “witness” be identified?  Let’s see…..

Various Theories

    Many today have come up with various theories [guesses] as to the identity of the second “witness.”  By examining these theories, the truth will be much easier to recognize.  How much brighter a precious jewel appears when displayed upon a dark background.  Even so, the light of God’s truth radiates brilliantly when contrasted with the vain theories of men.  Now let’s examine some of these theories…..

The “We Can’t Know” Theory…..I have had folks quote Deuteronomy 29:29 to me, and tell me that since God didn’t reveal the names of the “two witnesses” in Revelation 11 it just isn’t meant for us to know who they are.  I choose to disagree!  I feel such a statement is only a poor excuse to justify a lack of serious Bible study.  In the previous chapter the Scriptures clearly identify “Elijah the prophet” as one of the “two witnesses.”  Since God’s inspired Word named one of the “witnesses” somewhere other than in Revelation 11, then God’s people have every right to expect the other “witness” to be identified by name elsewhere in the Scriptures.

I would remind our readers that Proverbs 25:2 say, “It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings is to search out a matter.”  Compare Revelation 1:5-6 and 5:8-10.  Are you or aren’t you?  Well…?

Again in Amos 3:7 we are told, “Surely the Lord will do nothing, but He revealeth His secret unto His servants the prophets.”  Maybe some folks ought to devote a little more time to studying the writings of “the prophets.”  Eh…?

In 2 Peter 1:19 we read, “We have also a more sure [dependable; certain] Word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.”

Folks, Deuteronomy 29:29 was written to the Jews.  Read the context yourself.  During this present dispensation, the Jews have been judicially blinded, Romans 11:25; 2 Corinthians 3:13-15.  But true believers have no excuse for their ignorance of God’s Word.  If true believers fail to find answers to their questions, it is because they do not “search the Scriptures” as God’s people have been commanded to do, Proverbs 2:1-6; 2 Timothy 2:15; 2 Peter 1:19.  The Lord Jesus Himself promised His people that the Holy Spirit would guide us into “all truth,” John 16:13.  If we really believe God’s Word, that settles the matter.  We can know the truth about those things that the Lord has placed in His Word.

The “Spirit-Word” Theory…..There are a few folks who teach that God’s “two witnesses” are the Holy Spirit and the Bible.  They claim that the Holy Spirit and the Bible will be “killed” [symbolically] at the beginning of the Tribulation.  According to them, the Holy Spirit will be “killed” because He will be rejected by the wicked and will no longer restrain them from their wicked desires.  The advocates of this theory quote 2 Thessalonians 2:7 as “proof” of their theory.  Sic!  They also claim that the Bible will be completely rejected as truth by the wicked during the Tribulation, so therefore the Bible is “killed.”  Then after three and a half years [Revelation 11:9-11] the Holy Spirit and the Bible are supposedly “resurrected,” Psalm 85:11.  The Holy Spirit and the Bible will then ascend up into Heaven as visible “witnesses” to the wicked that God’s Holy Spirit is the true Spirit and that the Bible is truly God’s Word.

This theory is one of the silliest, most illogical, Scripturally unsound, theories that otherwise supposedly intelligent men have ever invented.  There is not a single verse of Scripture anywhere in God’s Word that even suggests that the Holy Spirit will ever be “killed,” symbolically or otherwise.  There isn’t even the slightest suggestion that it is even possible for the Holy Spirit to “die.”  Rather, the Scriptures teach exactly the opposite.

In 1 John 4:4 we read, “…..greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.” Who is it that is in the believer?  The Lord Jesus told the disciples in John 14:16-17, “And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of Truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him; for He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.”

    If the Holy Spirit that indwells the believer is “greater” than the spirit of Satan or the Antichrist, how is He [the Holy Spirit] to then be “killed” by them?  How is the Holy Spirit to dwell and live “for ever” within true believers if He is laying dead in the streets of Jerusalem for three and a half days, as the proponents of this theory claim?  How are the wicked of the earth to “see” the dead body of the Holy Spirit and “rejoice” over Him, when the Lord Himself said that the world “seeth Him not”?   Such is the absurdity of this silly theory.

Similar truths can be pointed out where God’s Word is concerned.  In Psalm 119:89 the Psalmist wrote, “For ever, O Lord, Thy Word is settled in heaven.”  What is “the beast” then going to do in order to “kill” the Holy Bible?  Is he going to invade Heaven, defeat all the angels of God, drag the Bible out of it’s “for ever” settled place, take it to the streets of Jerusalem, and “kill” it?  If this sounds like the ravings of some ignorant cultist, don’t blame me.  I don’t teach this silly theory, and those who do [or ever have] should hang their heads in shame.  What wicked mishandling of God’s Word!  God’s people are told to “rightly divide the Word of Truth,” 2 Timothy 2:15.  This whole stupid theory is a classic example of “wrongly” dividing God’s Word.  Shame!  Shame!

    The “Second Death” Theory…..There are those who insist that the “two witnesses” absolutely have to be Enoch and Elijah, because they are the only two men who have never experienced death.   The proponents of this theory insist that everyone must die once [Hebrews 9:27], but only the eternally lost can ever die twice.  Since the “two witnesses” are to be put to death when their ministry is completed, then it is argued that the “two witnesses” have to be men who have never died [Enoch and Elijah].  It is further alleged that if they were men who had previously died, then in being put to death again they would experience “the second death.”

    Folks, this theory sounds quite plausible to those who have not carefully studied the theory, but it simply does not stand up when tested by God’s Word.

Hebrews 9:27 does not say or teach that everyone must die.  All the verse actually says is that an appointment with death has been made.  The truth is that the Lord Jesus Christ Himself was our substitute who kept that appointment with death for every true believer.  God’s people [those truly saved] have been released from that appointment by the sacrifice of Christ.  If any reader doubts this, then read the plain statements of God’s Word in 2 Corinthians 5:14-15 and Hebrews 2:9.  The Lord Jesus Christ Himself died our “death,” thereby releasing us from that appointment.

This truth is verified by the Lord Himself in John 11:25-26 where we read,

“…..I am the resurrection [for dead believers], and the life [for living believers]: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead [physically dead], yet shall he live [be resurrected]: And whosoever liveth [is physically alive], and believeth in Me shall never die…..”

In this passage the Lord Himself divided believers into two groups in reference to the time of the resurrection/rapture; those who have died in the faith and those in the faith who will still be alive when the Lord comes.  Christ plainly states that those believers who are alive at that time will never experience death; they will never die.  Glory!

See also 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 and 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17.  It was the Lord God Himself who appointed man to die [Genesis 2:16-17], and, in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord God Himself kept that appointment for all who believe.  Christ died in our place on Calvary’s cruel cross.  He died our death.  Glory!  Since the appointment has already been kept for the believer, those believers who are still physically alive at the time of the rapture will never die.  They will be “translated” just like Enoch and Elijah were translated, and so will escape death.  Glory!

This truth doesn’t mean that any believer so translated will be one of God’s “two witnesses.”  Neither does it mean that Enoch and Elijah are God’s “two witnesses” simply because they escaped death.

Those who advocate this theory ignore the fact that at least eight people mentioned in the Bible did die twice.  The son of the widow of Zarephath [1 Kings 17:17-24], the Shunamites son [2 Kings 4:18-37], the man buried in Elisha’s tomb [2 Kings 13:20-21], Jonah [Jonah 2:5-6], the son of the widow of Nain [Luke 7:11-16], the daughter of Jairus [Mark 5:22-43], Lazarus [John 11:1-45], and Dorcas [Acts 9:36-42].  All of these people died and were restored to physical life.  It is obvious that with the passing of time they all died again.  This means they died twice.  But what real Bible student would be ignorant enough to claim that their second time to die is “the second death”?  God’s Word specifically states that “the second death” is being cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, Revelation 20:14-15.  It is mishandling God’s Word to give it any other meaning.  Some folks need to study more and “opine” less.  God have mercy!

Further, Premillennialists are almost unanimously agreed that Enoch is a type of the believer who will be translated [raptured] before the Tribulation, just as Enoch was translated before the flood.  God’s people should be consistent in what they believe.  If Enoch is indeed a type of the believer raptured before the Trib, then it is impossible for him to be one of the “two witnesses.”  If we are consistent when studying Bible types, then making Enoch one of the “witnesses” would mean that the raptured saints would return to earth during the Tribulation, witness for the Lord, be killed, and then raptured again.  Does this sound ridiculous?  It is!  The “theory” that Enoch will be the second “witness” just because he never died is completely ridiculous and illogical because it violates Bible types and Scriptural examples, and is utterly without any Scriptural justification.  Period!

    The “Transfiguration” Theory…..The advocates of this theory point out that Moses and Elijah appeared with the Lord at the transfiguration, therefore they have to be the “two witnesses.”  Balderdash!  Such a theory is nothing but an assumption based on a lack of careful Bible study.  This theory is probably the most popular of all the theories put forth, but popularity of a theory does not make it Bible truth.

Those espousing this theory have not carefully studied the transfiguration context.  I know this to be true because the Lord Jesus Himself, in Matthew 16:28, clearly stated,

    “Verily I say unto you, There are some standing here, who shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in His kingdom.”

Christ Himself said that the transfiguration was a “vision” of the “kingdom,” Matthew 16:28; 17:9.  It was not a vision of the rapture, nor of the Tribulation.  It was a vision of  the kingdom.  The Lord said so!  Most certainly Moses and Elijah will be in the kingdom.  So will all the rest of God’s redeemed people.  Hallelujah!  The fact that Moses and Elijah appeared with Christ at the transfiguration, which was a vision of the kingdom, is no proof at all that they will be the “two witnesses” of Revelation 11.  Such an assumption is based on ignoring the plain statement of the Lord Himself in Matthew 16:28.

    The fact that the transfiguration was a vision of the kingdom is further confirmed by the Apostle Peter in 2 Peter 1:16, “For we have not  followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty.”  Could this be made any plainer?

The transfiguration theory also ignores the role of Moses in God’s Word.  Deuteronomy 18:15-19 and Acts 3:22-23 plainly confirm Moses as being a type of Christ.  Moses only died once, and then disappeared from among mankind.  This is because he was a type of Christ.  Christ only died once for all, and then ascended back into Heaven, disappearing from among mankind.  See Romans 6:10, Hebrews 7:27, 9:12, 9:26, 10:10, and 1 Peter 3:18.  In Revelation 11:7 we are told that the “two witnesses” will be killed when their ministry is completed.  Moses has already died once, just as Christ died once.  To make Moses one of the “two witnesses” totally violates his role as a type of Christ.  If we are to be consistent with Bible types, then having Moses die a second time [as one of the “two witnesses] is tantamount to having Christ return and die a second time.  Such a thing cannot be.  It would totally violate the integrity of Christ and the Scriptures.  This is plain enough for any real Bible believer to understand.  It is Scripturally impossible for Moses to be the second “witness.”  Period!

The four theories we have examined are the most popular theories held by those seeking to identify the “two witnesses.”  But popularity doesn’t make them truth.  Not a one of these four theories stands up under the testing of God’s Word.  Every true believer should discard these theories, and get back into careful study of God’s Word.  It is the Word which identifies the second “witness.”   So let’s see what the Word has to say…..

The Identity of the Second Witness

    The Word identifies the first “witness” as “Elijah the prophet.”  And it is the Word that also identifies the second “witness.”  The Word plainly and repeatedly points out that John the Revelator [John the beloved; the Apostle John] will be the second “witness.”

    I am aware that some readers may not want to believe this claim, but let’s just examine it in the light of God’s Word.  If the claim is true, then God’s Word will vindicate the claim.  If God’s Word does not vindicate the claim, then I ask no reader to receive it as truth.  Folks, true believers should always obey the Word, “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good,” 1 Thessalonians 5:21.

    Now I want to examine Scriptures which have been largely ignored or explained away by those seeking the identity of the second “witness.”  A close examination of these passages will clearly identify John the Revelator as being the second “witness.”

Power Over Fire

    In Luke 9:51-56 it is recorded that Christ passed through Samaria.  He sent His disciples ahead of Him into a Samaritan village to “make ready for Him.”  The Samaritans in that village refused to receive Christ.  Their response produced violent indignation in James and John.  They asked the Lord, “Lord, wilt Thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias [Elijah] did?”  Such is exactly what is indicated in Revelation 11:5, “… proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies…..”

It might be argued by some that John did not actually have the power to call fire down from heaven.  But it is obvious that John, if the Lord so willed, certainly thought he had such power.  The Word of God certainly teaches that the “two witnesses” will have such power, and will exercise it upon their enemies during the Tribulation.

Sons of Thunder

    In Mark 3:13-19 the Lord selected twelve apostles.  Verse 17 places James and John in the list of the apostles, along with the statement that the Lord Himself “surnamed them Boanerges, which is, the sons of thunder.”

In Revelation 10:1-4 we are told about a “Mighty Angel” that roars “as a lion roareth.”  When the “Mighty Angel” roars “seven thunders uttered their voices.”  These “seven thunders” communicate a Divine message.  We know this to be true because John started to write down what the “seven thunders” had said.  It is obvious that John understood what the thunders had said.  He had been named by the Lord Himself as a “son of thunder.” The only time “thunder” is mentioned in the New Testament, other than here in Revelation 10, occurs in Mark 3:17, John 12:29, and other passages in Revelation [Tribulation]It is obvious that John has a peculiar relation to “thunder” in the Scriptures.  Notice that this passage in Revelation 10 is directly connected to Revelation 11, which tells us about the ministry of God’s “two witnesses.”  There is no break or pause between the two chapters.  This certainly suggests that John will be the second “witness” who will literally fulfill what the “Mighty Angel” tells him he “must” do “again” in Revelation 10:11.

If…..He Tarry

    In John 21:20-24 the Apostle Peter looks at one of the Lord’s disciples and says, “Lord, and what shall this man do?”  The man Peter was referring to was the one “whom Jesus loved,” the one who “also leaned on His breast at supper,” and the one who said, “Lord, which is he that betrayeth Thee?”  This emphasis in God’s Word clearly identifies the disciple as being John himself. Compare John 13:23-25, 19:26-27, 20:2, and 21:24.  In answering Peter’s question the Lord said, “If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?”  The Scriptures record that Peter and the other disciples were astonished at the Lord’s answer.  They understood it to mean that John would not die.  However, the Lord did not say that John would not die, but that if the Lord should so will, John would tarry until the Lord returned.  To really understand this statement we need to examine it carefully.

The word translated as “tarry” in this verse is the Greek word, “meno.”  This Greek word occurs 118 times in the New Testament.  It is translated variously as “abide; be; be present; continue; dwell; endure; remain; stand; tarry; tarry for.”  See Thayer’s Greek Lexicon, page 399, Strong’s No. 3306.  By examining the various Scripture passages where the word is used, it becomes obvious that the word literally means “to remain behind.”

The word “come” in this passage is translated from the Greek word, “erchomai.”  This word occurs 641 times in the New Testament.  It is translated 609 times as “come.”  This is the basic meaning of the word “to come.”

What the Lord then actually told Peter, is that if it was His will John would “remain behind” until the Lord had come.  This is a startling statement.  What are we to make of it?  Does it mean that John is still living somewhere on earth today?  No, I don’t think so!  Could it mean that John never died, and will not die, until the Lord returns?   In view of Christian history which speaks of John’s death, that doesn’t seem plausible either.  And how does this statement relate to the identity of the “two witnesses”?  Just keep this statement in mind as we continue to study.

John’s Unique Position

    John is unique among the prophets of the Bible.  He is the only prophet that is to have a personal role in fulfilling the prophecies which God gave to and through him.

In Revelation 1:9-20 John is seen on the island of Patmos.  The time is 96 A.D.  In verse 10 John tells us, I was in the spirit on the Lord’s day….”  Significantly, this exact same expression occurs a second time in Revelation 4:2, “And immediately I was in the spirit….”  In this latter passage the meaning is obvious.  John became “in the spirit” and was transported forward in time as he received the visions recorded in chapters 4 – 22.   Since the two expressions are exactly the same, why do so-called “scholars” give a different meaning to the passage in Revelation 1:10 than they do the passage in 4:2?  Well…?

The truth is, both passages mean exactly the same thing.  When the Lord spoke to John on the island of Patmos, John literally “became in the spirit.”  In his “spirit” John was then transported forward in time into “the day of the Lord.”  This enabled him to behold the entire church age, which he recorded in Revelation 2 – 3.  Then following the church age John “became in the spirit” again as he was transported forward in time into “the day of the Lord” [the Tribulation; Daniel’s 70th Week].

Yes, I am quite well aware that tradition has labeled “the Lord’s day” in Revelation 1:10 as being “Sunday.”  But tradition and truth are often in conflict.  This passage has nothing whatsoever to do with “Sunday” being the Lord’s Day.  John actually “became in the spirit” and was transported forward into the future “day of the Lord” [the Tribulation] where he became an eyewitness and an active participant in the unfolding events that lead up to the return of our Lord.  In this manner John 21:22-23 was fulfilled [past tense] with John “in the spirit,” and it will yet be fulfilled [future tense] with John “in the flesh.”  John recorded the events of Revelation for us as an eyewitness “in the spirit,” but he will yet have an active part in fulfilling those same events during the Tribulation as a “witness” in the flesh.

If our readers find this truth hard to grasp, then let me demonstrate it another way…..

On the Earth

    In Revelation 10:1 the beloved John wrote, “And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven.”  The exact [inspired] wording of this verse clearly implies that John is on the earth watching this angel come down from heaven to the earth.  Verse 8 confirms this point, “And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.”  This passage tells us that the angel is standing upon the surface of the earth, partly on the land and partly on the sea.  John was then instructed to take the “little book” out of the angel’s hand.  In order for John to take the book out of the angel’s hand, he also had to be on the earth.  Some would explain this by claiming that John never literally left the earth; that he was [bodily] on the island of Patmos all the time.  This is true, however it does not alter the circumstances described in the context of the Revelation vision.  Right here in Revelation 10, John is described as being on the earth during the Tribulation.  Glory!  What follows will demonstrate this truth…..

In His Flesh

    In Revelation 10:9-10 John obediently takes the “little book.”  The angel then says to John, “Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.  And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.”

The prophet Ezekiel had an almost identical experience according to Ezekiel 2:7-10 and 3:1-4.  So did the prophet Jeremiah according to Jeremiah 15:16-18.  In both cases, after eating the Word these two prophets, in their flesh, preached the Word to others.  It was not just a case of them receiving from the Lord their individual books of prophecy, but rather a case of actually preaching the Word in their fleshly bodies.  Since this was the case with these two prophets, what makes us think it will be any different with John?  It won’t!  Notice the next thing John is told…..

Thou Must Prophesy Again

    In Revelation 10:11 the angel emphatically tells John, “Thou must prophesy [preach] again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.”

    This is an emphatic statement!  It is similar to the command given to Ezekiel.  Ezekiel was to preach God’s Word.  Ezekiel, in obedience to the Lord, then went forth and preached in his fleshly body.  Why expect it to be any different with John?

Another Vain Theory

    At this point, in order to present and confirm the truth, I am forced to deal with and expose another “popular” theory.  Some teachers of prophecy tell God’s people that the command given to John in verse 11 only means that John was to write the remainder of the Book of Revelation.  Oh, is that so?  Let’s see if God’s Word supports such a theory…..

The Lord Himself, in Revelation 1:19, divided John’s whole vision [The Book of Revelation] into three divisions, “Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter.”

    The first division is contained in Revelation 1; “the things which thou hast seen.”

The second division is contained in Revelation 2 – 3; “the things which are.”  At the time John received these revelations from God, the dispensation of Law was past and God’s people [including John] were living in the dispensation of Grace [the church age].  We are still living in it today.  The events of this present dispensation comprise “the things which are.”

    The third and final division is contained in Revelation 4 – 22; “the things which shall be hereafter.”  In the Greek text this is literally “the things which shall be after these [present] things.”

These are the three divisions that the Lord Himself gave.  Who are these so-called “scholars,” these “great” men of God, who are so wise and knowledgeable that they can tell the Lord that He made a mistake?

The truth is that the third division was not even to begin to be concluded until the sounding of “the seventh angel,” Revelation 10:7.  John knew the visions given were not yet completed.  The “seventh angel” does not even begin to sound until after the account of the “two witnesses” is given, Revelation 11:15.  Those who teach this theory either make John out to be a simpleton, or they imply that the Book of Revelation was completed in chapter 10 and then the Lord decided to add “a fourth division” to the book.  The very idea of adding a fourth division totally violates the divisions that the Lord Himself set in place in 1:19.  The whole fallacy of this silly theory can be seen with just a little careful Bible study.  Instead of trying to explain away the plain statement made in 10:11, wouldn’t it be easier to just take the Lord at His Word and believe what He said?  He said that John “…..must prophesy [preach] again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.”  The Lord said it and that settles it, whether some choose to believe it or not.  Period!

But now let’s nail down this truth…..

Rise and Measure

    Immediately after telling John that he “must prophesy again,” John was given “a reed like unto a rod” and the very same angel then told him,

“Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.  And I will give power unto My two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth,” Revelation 11:1-3.

The context in chapters 10 – 11 are one unbroken context through 11:14.  These two portions of God’s Word were meant to be studied together.  Keep in mind that the scene that begins in chapter 10 continues right on into chapter 11.  We previously noted that John was on the island of Patmos when he received the Revelation.  But the Jewish Temple was not located on the island of Patmos.  Hello!  Are we awake yet?

The truth is there was no Jewish Temple in existence when John received the Revelation in 96 A.D.  The Temple had been destroyed 26 years previously in 70 A.D.  Since there was no Temple in existence, it is obvious that John was instructed to “Rise, and measure….” the future Tribulation Temple that will again be located in the city of Jerusalem.  This places John in Jerusalem during the coming Tribulation, and directly connects him to the Jewish Temple.  But how literally are we to take this?  Let’s see…..

John is told to “Rise, and measure…”  The word translated as “rise” comes from the Greek word, “egeiro.”  This Greek word occurs 140 times in the New Testament.  It literally means “to awaken; to raise; to lift up; to be raised or lifted up.”  See Thayer’s Greek Lexicon, page 165, Strong’s No. 1453.  Out of the 140 times the word occurs in the New Testament, it is used directly or indirectly 90 times in reference to rising from the dead.  Glory!  Folks, what John was being told in Revelation 11:1 was to wake up from the dead and “measure” [lay out the architectural design] of the Temple.  Glory!  Hallelujah!  Praise the Lord!  Get a concordance or a Greek Lexicon and check these things out for yourself.  John was not dead when he received the vision of the Revelation on the island of Patmos.  But here in Revelation 11:1 he is told to rise from the dead.

This makes it obvious that John would die, and did die, at some point after he received the Revelation in 96 A.D.  But his future resurrection and restoration to life was prophesied in Revelation 11 even as he was receiving the Revelation vision. Amazing!   What a Mighty God we serve!

The Scenario

    The passages we have studied clearly reveal that John will be the second “witness.”  Although all the intimate details cannot yet be known, the general scenario regarding John [and Elijah] is as follows:

At the time of the resurrection/rapture John will be raised from the dead right along with all those who have “died in Christ” during this present dispensation.  But John will not be caught up [raptured] to meet the Lord in the air along with the other children of God, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.  Rather, John will “tarry” [remain behind] to fill his role as the second “witness.”  He will continue to “tarry” until the Lord [the Mighty Angel] claims the earth as His possession at the middle of the Tribulation, Revelation 10:1-7.  This will literally fulfill the statement made by the Lord in John 21:22.  Restored to physical life in his flesh and blood body, John will minister as the second “witness” during the first half of the Tribulation.

Elijah and John, God’s “two witnesses,” will direct and supervise the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem, Matthew 17:11; Revelation 11:1-2.  In the latter passage John is given “a reed like unto a rod” and told to “measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.”

    The Greek word translated as “reed” is the word “kalamos.”  This Greek word occurs 12 times in the New Testament.  The word literally means “a reed such as grows along the river’s bank,” but the word is often used symbolically to signify “a ruler’s emblem or rod of authority.”  Remember that the Roman soldiers placed such a “reed” into the hands of Jesus as they mocked Him preceding His crucifixion, Matthew 27:29-30; Mark 15:19.

The Greek word translated as “rod” is the word “rhabdos.”  This word also occurs only 12 times in the New Testament.  It is twice translated as “sceptre,” six times as “rod,” and four times as “staff.”  The word also literally means “a rod or scepter of authority.”

The Greek word translated as “measure” is the word “metreo.”  This word occurs only 10 times in the New Testament.  It is translated by the words “measure” and “mete.”  It literally means “to measure or mete out; particularly in laying down God’s standards and principles of righteous judgment.”  Whoa!  Does that tell you anything?

When we consider the meaning of these three words that were used by the “Mighty Angel” as He instructed John, it is obvious that John will be given a “rod” [a scepter of God’s authority] for the purpose of restoring the ancient Temple worship of the Jews, and calling the Jewish remnant to repentance before God.  Thus we see that John’s ministry coincides perfectly with the ministry of Elijah.

The ancient Temple worship of Israel was governed by the Law that God gave Moses to give to Israel.   The stated purpose of the Law, as given in the New Testament, was to make lost people aware of their sinful condition, and of their own personal need of the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.  See Romans 7:7-13, Galatians 3:19, and 3:24.  The Jews nationally rejected the Lord Jesus Christ and were temporarily set aside, allowing God’s grace to be preached to the Gentiles.  However, the purpose of the Law has never changed.  The Law is filled with types and shadows, all of which point to Christ as the fulfillment of the Law, 1 Corinthians 10:1-11; Colossians 2:16-17.

    God is then going to send “Elijah the prophet,” the greatest prophet of the Law dispensation, and John the Revelator, the greatest prophet of the Grace dispensation, back to the Jewish people.  These “two witnesses” will work together, directing and supervising the rebuilding of the Temple, and restoring the ancient Temple worship of the Jews.  When the sacrifices and offerings begin to be offered again on the Temple altar, Elijah and John will be there to point out and expound upon the spiritual pictures of the Lord Jesus Christ in those sacrifices and offerings…..and no religious [or secular] bigot, neither Jew nor Gentile will be able to stop them.  The Lord Jesus Christ, the rejected and crucified “Messiah of Israel” will be proclaimed to all humanity.  Glory!

What a ministry they will have!  The power of the God of Israel will rest upon them, indwell them, guide them, and protect them, Revelation 11:5.  They will once again do “signs and wonders” to demonstrate that their authority comes from the very throne of Almighty God, Hebrews 2:3-4; Revelation 11:6.  Under their powerful preaching 144,000 Jews will believe their message and receive Christ right at the beginning of the Tribulation, Revelation 7:1-8; 14:1-5.  Millions of Gentiles will then also be saved under their ministry and the ministry of the 144,000, Revelation 7:9-14.  And at the conclusion of their ministry, even in death they will glorify Almighty God, Revelation 11:7-12.

A Final Word

    Dear readers, the return of Christ to resurrect and rapture His people [those truly saved] to glory is “the blessed hope” of the believer, Titus 2:13.  So many world events of prophetic significance are taking place today, it should be obvious that our Lord’s return is right at hand.  The Lord Jesus Christ, our beloved Savior, is coming very soon to rescue and rapture His Bride and her entourage to glory.  Are you ready?  Really ready?

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life,” John 3:16.

    “Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the Master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:

    Lest coming suddenly He find you sleeping.

    And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch,” Mark 13:35-37.

The above study was written in 1970.  Thirty-six years later, this study is more timely than it has ever been.  I have just completed editing the study, due to having received  many requests for it recently from people all over the world.  I want to assure our readers that my editing was limited to punctuation and grammer.  No point made in the original study nor any doctrinal truth has been changed. In these past thirty-six years I have had no reason to change anything that was in the original study.  I stood by these truths when I originally wrote them thirty-six years ago, and I still stand by them today.

The only thing that has changed is the times in which we live.  Dear readers, time is running out!  The coming of our Lord is at the door.  I am no longer talking about years, or even months.  I am speaking of weeks, and perhaps even days, until God’s people [those truly saved] meet our wonderful Lord and Savior face to face.  Are we ready for that meeting?  Really ready?

I personally expect Elijah and John to show up in the streets of Jerusalem within weeks of this writing, preaching Jesus to the Jewish people again.  Praise the Lord!  But I won’t be here to see them.  I’ll be in glory with my wonderful Savior.  And my earnest prayer and heart’s desire for every reader is that through the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ you will be in glory with me.  Listen again to these wonderful words of hope for all true believers.

    “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

    For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him.

    For this we say unto you by the Word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent [precede] them which are asleep.

    For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

    Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

    Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

Wake Up America!

The following post is reposted from website:

Wake Up America! 10 Very Obvious Reasons Why The Devastating U.S. Jobs Famine Is Going To Suck The Hope Right Out Of America

Do you have friends, neighbors and relatives that can’t find work?  Well, unfortunately the current U.S. jobs famine is about to get a whole lot worse.  Right now there are approximately 13.9 million unemployed Americans.  That does not count those that “are not looking for work”.  That does not count those that are working part-time jobs but that are desperate for full-time work.  The truth is that we need tens of millions more full-time jobs in order to give one to everyone that wants one.  Sadly, the long-term trends that have caused this mess continue to get worse.  Unless truly dramatic changes are made, the U.S. economy is going to continue to bleed jobs and that is going to suck the hope right out of this country.  It is time to wake up America!  It is not a big mystery why we don’t have enough jobs.  But sadly, very few of our leaders are talking about the real issues.

Something has got to be done.  Unemployment is already at epidemic levels, and this country can’t afford for things to get much worse.  Just check out how a recent article in The Wall Street Journal summarized our current predicament….

There are more unemployed than the combined populations of Wyoming, Vermont, North Dakota, Alaska, South Dakota, Delaware, Montana, Rhode Island, Hawaii, Maine, New Hampshire, Idaho and the District of Columbia.

If they were a country, the 13.9 million unemployed Americans would be the 68th largest country in the world, bigger than the population of Greece or Portugal (each of which has 10.8 million people) and more than twice the population of Norway (4.7 million.)

Isn’t that incredible?

The number of unemployed Americans is larger than the entire population of Greece.

There are millions of Americans that will be sitting at home in front of their televisions tonight wondering why they can’t find jobs.  Last month, only 58.1% of Americans over the age of 16 were employed.  Our economy should be able to do far better than that.

All over the Internet there are stories of people that have sent out hundreds (or even thousands) of resumes and nobody even wants to interview them.  One recent survey found that approximately 80 percent of all Americans believe that it is “difficult” to find a job right now.

Unfortunately, things are going to get much, much worse before all this is over.

The following are 10 very obvious reasons why the devastating U.S. jobs famine is going to suck the hope right out of America….

#1 Our politicians simply do not care that America is bleeding jobs.  Amazingly, even with rampant unemployment plaguing this nation, Obama administration officials continue to declare that it is okay that we are losing manufacturing jobs because a lot of cheaper products are things that “we don’t want to make in America” anyway.  The following is what U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk told Tim Robertson of the Huffington Post the other day….

Let’s increase our competitiveness… the reality is about half of our imports, our trade deficit is because of how much oil [we import], so you take that out of the equation, you look at what percentage of it are things that frankly, we don’t want to make in America, you know, cheaper products, low-skill jobs that frankly college kids that are graduating from, you know, UC Cal and Hastings [don’t want], but what we do want is to capture those next generation jobs and build on our investments in our young people, our education infrastructure.

The economic negligence that recent administrations have demonstrated has been absolutely mind boggling.  Blue collar male workers in particular are being absolutely devastated by the loss of manufacturing jobs.  Back in 1967, 97 percent of men with a high school degree between the ages of 30 and 50 had jobs.  Today, that figure is down to 76 percent.

#2 The Obama administration has now instituted a policy of “backdoor amnesty” for illegal immigrants by executive fiat.  Janet Napolitano has announced that from now on there will be a case-by-case review of all deportation cases.  Cases involving criminals will be prioritized and most others will be thrown out.  A list of 19 factors that will allow government officials to use “prosecutorial discretion” in immigration cases has been distributed.  Recently, I listed a few of those “factors” on The American Dream website….

-arrival in the U.S. as a young child

-actively “pursuing an education”

-serving or served in the U.S. military

-spouse of someone in the U.S. military

-18 years old or younger

-pregnant or nursing

-victim of a “serious crime”

-serious disability or health problem

-caring for a family member with a serious disability or health problem

Obviously, it is not going to be too difficult for most illegal immigrants to fit into at least one of those categories.

On top of everything else the Obama administration has announced that it will now allow illegal immigrants to apply for work permits….

Illegal aliens living in the United States typically don’t apply for work permits for fear of deportation, but under the new policy, they could apply for work permits if granted deferred action or parole and compete with 22 million Americans who can’t find a full-time job.

So now blue collar Americans workers will have even more competition for the dwindling number of jobs.

#3 State and local governments all over the country are dead broke, and an atmosphere of austerity is sweeping the nation.  Right now state and local governments are slashing jobs at an unprecedented rate.

In the past, government jobs were considered to be very secure and they definitely paid a lot higher than average.  But now that era is coming to an end, at least on the state and local government levels.

According to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, state and local governments have eliminated more than half a million jobs since August 2008.  UBS Investment Research is projecting that state and local governments in the U.S. will cut 450,000 more jobs by the end of 2012.

#4 U.S. businesses are being absolutely crushed by mountains of nightmarish regulations, and yet the federal government, the state governments and local governments just continue to pile them on.  For example, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is projecting that the food service industry will have to spend an additional 14 million hours every single year just to comply with new federal regulations that mandate that all vending machine operators and chain restaurants must label all products that they sell with a calorie count in a location visible to the consumer.  Due to these kinds of ridiculous regulations, many business owners have simply given up and many other potential business owners figure that owning a business is just not worth the hassle.

#5 As I have written about so many times before, the “global economy” is really bad for American workers.  When we merged our economy with the economies of nations where it is legal to pay slave labor wages, we made it inevitable that we would start losing massive amounts of jobs.

Why would a giant corporation pay a U.S. worker 10 to 20 times as much as a worker on the other side of the globe?  Investors actually expect big companies to have an “outsourcing” strategy today.  When more jobs get shipped out of the country, profits go up, stock prices go up and executive bonuses go up.

Big corporations don’t exist to provide you with jobs.  They exist to maximize shareholder wealth.  If taking your job away and giving it to someone in Asia will make more money for them, then that it exactly what they are going to do.

#6 Unfair trade is absolutely killing our economy.  It would be one thing if the U.S. was running a massive trade deficit solely because we were incompetent.  But the truth is that a big factor is that a number of our “trade partners” are economic predators that are purposely trying to prey on us.

The other day, I wrote about some of the things that China does to steal our jobs, our factories and our wealth….

China massively subsidizes their biggest corporations, they brazenly steal technology from anyone that they can, they openly manipulate exchange rates and they allow their workers to be paid slave labor wages.

Today, we spend about 4 dollars on imports from China for every 1 dollar that China spends on imports from us.  China now even makes more beer than we do.  Even the new Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial on the National Mall was made in China.

Until our politicians start insisting on a level playing field, all of this is going to continue.

#7 Small businesses are traditionally one of the primary engines of job growth in this country.  But right now, small businesses all over America are having a really hard time getting anyone to loan them money.  A big reason for this is that the Federal Reserve is actually paying banks not to make loans.  Unfortunately, if small businesses can’t get the money that they need, then they can’t hire people.

#8 A lot of people may not want to hear this, but businesses in the United States are being absolutely taxed into oblivion.  The U.S. now has the highest corporate tax rate in the world, but that is only a very small part of the story.

Michael Fleischer, the President of Bogen Communications, wrote an op-ed last year for the Wall Street Journal entitled “Why I’m Not Hiring”.  The following is how Paul Hollrah of Family Security Matters summarized the nightmarish taxes that are imposed when Fleischer hires a new worker….

According to Fleischer, Sally grosses $59,000 a year, which shrinks to less than $44,000 after taxes and other payroll deductions. The $15,311 deducted from Sally’s gross pay is comprised of New Jersey state income tax: $1,893; Social Security taxes: $3,661; state unemployment insurance: $126; disability insurance: $149; Medicare insurance: $856; federal withholding tax: $6,250; and her share of medical and dental insurance: $2,376. Roughly 25.9 percent of Sally’s income is siphoned off by Washington and Trenton before she receives her paychecks.

But then there are the additional costs of employing Sally. In addition to her gross salary, her employer must pay the lion’s share of her healthcare insurance premiums: $9,561; life and other insurance premiums: $153; federal unemployment insurance: $56; disability insurance: $149; worker’s comp insurance: $300; New Jersey state unemployment insurance: $505; Medicare insurance: $856; and the employer’s share of Social Security taxes: $3,661.

Over and above her gross salary, Bogen Communications must pay an additional $15,241 in benefits and state and federal taxes, bringing the total cost of employing Sally to approximately $74,241 per year. Sally gets to keep $43,689, or just 58.8% of that total.

After reading all that, can you really blame business owners for not wanting to hire additional workers?

#9 The national debt is like a giant albatross around the neck of the economy. The U.S. national debt has increased by more than 4 trillion dollars since Barack Obama took office.  The rampant government spending that has been going on has not done much to create new jobs, but it will be a massive burden that will weigh down economic growth for many years to come.

When a nation is drowning in debt, a tremendous amount of economic resources must go to servicing that debt.  Right now, hundreds of billions of dollars a year that could be used to build up our economy are instead being used to pay interest on the national debt.  If interest rates go up significantly, we could soon be paying over a trillion dollars a year just in interest on the national debt.

#10 Right now America is very deeply divided and a tremendous sense of pessimism has set in.  One recent survey found that 48 percent of Americans believe that it is likely that another great Depression will begin within the next 12 months.  With such a negative feeling in the air, it is going to make it even less likely that business owners will be in the mood to hire people.

I know that I pick on Detroit a lot, but it really is a microcosm of what is happening to America.  The following video contains some absolutely amazing footage of the ruins of Detroit….

Sadly, what is happening to Detroit is happening in hundreds of other communities across the United States.

All over America, neighborhoods that were once teeming with hope and prosperity are now falling apart.  Hopelessness is rampant and it is spreading.  The number of Americans on food stamps has increased 74% since 2007.  If not for our increasingly overwhelmed “safety net”, we would already have mass rioting in the streets.

Sadly, we are already seeing all sorts of signs that society is collapsing.  As the economy continues to fall apart, the violence in our neighborhoods is going to get even worse.

The following is one very shocking recent example from the Chicago Tribune….

Moments before she was slain last week on Chicago’s Southwest Side, 17-year-old Charinez Jefferson begged the gunman not to shoot because she was pregnant, prosecutors said today.

Despite her plea, Timothy Jones, 18, opened fire on Jefferson anyway, yelling an expletive at her as he shot her in the head, prosecutors said. He then stood over her as she lay on the ground and fired several more times, striking her in the chest and back.

America is changing.  The country that so many of us have loved all of our lives is becoming unrecognizable.  Large numbers of communities have had all of the hope sucked right out of them.  Tens of millions of Americans that want to do things the “right way” are rapidly losing faith in the system.

When you can’t get a decent job after months and months of trying it can be absolutely soul-crushing.

What do you tell someone that has spent a year sending out resumes and has used up all of their savings?

The era of endless prosperity for America is at an end.  The cold, hard consequences of decades of bad decisions are starting to set in.

Unless a dramatic change of course happens, the long-term trends noted above are going to get progressively worse.  It won’t matter who is running Congress and it won’t matter who is in the White House.

Right now our economy is rapidly hurtling downhill on a bus without brakes and we are headed directly for a cliff.

Please wake up America.

Farce..?? Nonsense..?? Foolishness..??

Farce..??  Nonsense..?? Foolishness..??

The Question

     Just yesterday many of God’s people on the Internet were rejoicing because they were finally able to see Comet Elenin and Planet X for themselves by photographing the Sun with their own cell phone cameras.  Their own photographs confirmed that these two heavenly bodies are already in the solar system or are swiftly approaching the solar system and therefore approaching the earth, exactly as Revelation 8:6-12 predicts. Anyone with the mental capacity to read, can read these Scriptures for themselves and understand that the earth is to be visited by four judgments coming out of the heavens during the first half of the Tribulation.  Read it for yourself! Rev. 8:6-12, “So the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.

7The first angel sounded: And hail and fire followed, mingled with blood, and they were thrown to the earth. And a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up.

8Then the second angel sounded: And something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood. 9And a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.

10Then the third angel sounded: And a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. 11The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the water, because it was made bitter.

12Then the fourth angel sounded: And a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened. A third of the day did not shine, and likewise the night.”

But today some of the same people are downcast, disappointed, discouraged, and defeated because someone writing on “Five Doves” website decided that the images which are being seen in the photos taken on cell phone cameras are neither Elenin nor Planet X, but rather are merely reflections on the lense of the cell phones being used to take the photos.

What a switch between the elation of yesterday and the defeat of today!  A good example of the “fickle” fallen nature of mankind.  Men and women, including even true believers, are often “blown about” with every wind of change in their situation, Ephesians 4:14, “that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting.”  Feasting on the Manna from Heaven and praising the Lord for His goodness and mercy one day, and dragging themselves through the valley of despair the next day crying out, “Where is God?”  This “fickleness” in human nature makes one wonder why God is so merciful and patient and longsuffering with us.

Folks, whether some want to hear it or not, such inconsistency in the lives of those who claim to be “Christians” is a shameful disgrace to the cause of Christ.  Those who don’t like my saying so, have my permission to write and apologize to me.  Is this stated clearly enough?

The real question is not whether the photos taken by cell phone cameras actually show Elenin and Planet X, but rather whether the inspired Word of God predicts such judgments coming on the earth or not.  Does it or doesn’t it?  Well…??

Why the Doubts..??

     The fact is, there is considerable doubt that the “doubters and skeptics” who have labeled the coming of Elenin and Planet X AS A FARCE AND NONSENSE AND FOOLISHNESS even know what they are talking about.  I have personally heard from several different people TODAY who have taken photos at different places, at different times, at different angles, under different conditions, and who have carefully checked to see that there was no reflective glare on their cameras when they were taking the photos, yet their photos still showed Elenin or Planet X or both of the heavenly bodies near the Sun.  Obviously some of the skeptics and doubters are eager to discredit the whole subject, for it doesn’t “fit” what they want to believe.

Who cares whether the photos really show Elenin and Planet X?  I don’t!  Whether the photos do or do not won’t change what God’s Holy Inspired Word has to say about the matter.  What God’s Word has to say is what really counts!  Isn’t it?  Don’t hem or haw or stutter or stammer.  Just answer the question!  Either you believe what God’s Word actually and literally has to say, or you ought to “take down your sign” and quit claiming to be something or someone that you really are not.  We all know what most folks call such “pretenders” so I don’t have to even say the word.   Now “is you is, or is you ain’t” a real true believer?  Well…??

Dear readers, I have been seriously watching and studying the approach of Planet X in the light of God’s Word for the past 11 years.  I have a six-inch thick file on the subject in my file cabinet right now.  I didn’t have to ever see a photo of Planet X [or Comet Elenin] to KNOW that Planet X is real, and especially to know that such heavenly bodies are predicted in God’s Word to come flying past the earth REAL SOON.  God’s Word says so, whether some want to believe it or not!  The inspired prophecies of the Word have been predicting this truth for centuries, but NOW is the “appointed time” for those prophecies to be fulfilled.  How do I know?  I’m so glad you asked…..

 The Lord Himself told us they were coming…..

     In setting forth The Parable of the Fig Tree, the Lord Himself stated, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away,” Matthew 24:35.  This statement of the Lord is commonly overlooked or ignored, because it is such a simple statement in our English Bible that nearly everyone who reads it assumes that they understand what is being said.   The last time I checked 1 Thessalonians 5:2, “For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.” and 2 Timothy 2:15, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” were both still in the Bible.  One of the lessons the Lord has graciously taught me over these past 57 years in His ministry, is to never assume anything where God’s Word is concerned.  Dumb assumptions result in equally dumb theories that do nothing but spread confusion and deception in the ranks of Christianity.  Are you listening?

Do our readers really know and understand what the Lord actually and literally said when He made this statement, or do our readers just assume that they know what the Lord said?  Let’s take a serious look at the Lord’s statement and see what He really said.

The English words “pass away” in this Scripture are translated from the Greek word, “pareleusomai.”  This Greek word occurs 31 times in the New Testament, and it literally means, “to go past; to pass by; to go past one; to be led by; to be carried past.”  See Thayer’s Greek Lexicon, page 488, Strong’s No. 3928.  In other words, what Christ was literally saying is that at some point in the future the “heaven” would come flying past the “earth,” both the heavens and the earth being unstable in contrast to the permanence of His Word which is established forever, Psalm 119:89, “Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven.”  So in this passage of Scripture the Lord Himself predicted that at some point in the future one or more heavenly bodies would come flying past the earth.  Hello!

The Lord also knew that Psalm 102:25-26, “Of old You laid the foundation of the earth,

And the heavens are the work of Your hands.

26 They will perish, but You will endure;

Yes, they will all grow old like a garment;

Like a cloak You will change them,

And they will be changed.” clearly predicts that the present order or arrangement of the solar system revolving around the Sun will “perish” and the heavens will be “changed.”  In order to fulfill this prophecy a “change” has to occur in the entire solar system.  It doesn’t require a lot of intelligence to come to this logical conclusion.   So what is the Lord going to use to bring about this “change” in the present order and arrangement of the solar system?  I don’t know!  However, I suspect that such a “change” could be brought about by one or more large heavenly bodies with powerful electro-magnetic and gravitational fields entering into the solar system and literally forcing the planets in the solar system to move out of their present orbits, or perhaps even causing some of them to self destruct.   Well glory to God!  It sure appears that when the Lord Jesus gave His prophecies, He had in mind events which are on the horizon RIGHT NOW.

Our precious Lord, in Luke 21:11, in the exact context of speaking about the events which would precede and signal His coming again for His people, explicitly stated, “And great earthquakes shall be in divers [diverse; different] places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall be from heaven.”

     The Lord continued this line of thought in the same chapter a few verses later when He explicitly stated, “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken,” Luke 21:25-26.

      Today it is a well known established truth that disturbances which occur in the solar system have a direct effect upon the earth.   For instance, it is common knowledge that it is the gravitational pull of the Moon which causes the tidal actions in the seas and oceans of the earth.  Let anything interfere with the gravitational force of the Moon upon the earth and the tides in the seas and oceans will increase accordingly.   The solar flares from the Sun are the cause of the so-called “northern lights.”  Depending on how strong the electro-magnetic energy is in the solar flares from the Sun, the solar flares can interfere with communications, electrical grid systems, the climate and weather systems on the earth, and even affect the tectonic plates of the earth causing earthquakes.   Anyone today who has even casually observed the movements of the heavens then knows that there is a direct connection between what occurs in the heavens in the solar system and what occurs on the earth.   To deny this connection is “ignorance gone to seed.”

Notice that the Lord Himself explicitly stated, “for the powers of heaven shall be shaken,” Luke 21:26.  The English word “shaken” is translated from the Greek word, “saleuo.”  This Greek word literally means, “to shake up; agitate; to cause to totter; to shake thoroughly; to shake down; to overthrow; to cast down from one’s state; to move; to disturb; to stir up.”  See Thayer’s Greek Lexicon, page 567, Strong’s No. 4531.  See also Hebrews 12:25-29, “See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven, 26whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.” 27Now this, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.

28Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. 29For our God is a consuming fire.” and Haggai 2:6-7, “For thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; 7and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the LORD of hosts.”  Yet in spite of the prospect of such prophesied events staring humanity in the face RIGHT NOW, some stubbornly refuse to believe these events explicitly predicted by the Lord Jesus Himself are either coming or even going to happen.

But they will!   I remind our readers that the entire Book of Revelation was given to John as a vision by the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, Revelation 1:1, “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John,”; 1:8, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”; 1:17-20, “And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying £to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. 18I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death. 19Write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place after this. 20The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands which you saw are the seven churches.”  In Revelation 8:7-12 the first four judgments under the sounding of the trumpets are poured out upon the earth as each of the angels sound their trumpets.  Each one of these four judgments are brought about by something from out of the heavens falling upon, passing by, or otherwise effecting the earth.  Notice also that each of the judgments follows one behind the other, exactly as we presently see Planet X following Elenin and the Lord only knows what is following Planet X.  Is this all just coincidence?  I don’t think the Lord Jesus Christ was lying when He gave us these prophecies!  Do you? “The first angel sounded: And hail and fire followed, mingled with blood, and they were thrown to the earth.

The Apostle Peter verified the Lord’s prediction by explicitly saying, “But the day of the Lord  [the Tribulation] will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up,” 2 Peter 3:10.

This inspired Apostle used the exact same Greek word [pareleusomai…”pass away”] that the Lord used in Matthew 24:35.  In other words, the Apostle Peter clearly states that the Tribulation will begin when one or more heavenly bodies come flying past the earth making “a great noise” as they pass.   This will likely occur when the entire earth is plunged into three days and nights of total darkness, thereby fulfilling Christ coming to resurrect and rapture His New Covenant believers to glory “as a thief in the night.”  See or request my study on The Three Days of Darkness.

     By the way, I did receive an email from a fellow telling me that it would be “impossible” for people on the earth to hear a planet or other heavenly body passing by the earth through space for, according to him, “space is a vacuum which cannot transmit sound.”  Whoo boy!  Then I suppose the ancient Sumerians were just bald faced liars when they recorded how the inhabitants of the earth trembled in stark terror as they watched and HEARD Planet X passing by the earth some 3,630 years ago.   If I could buy some of these proud hearted “know-it-alls” for what they are really worth, and sell them for what they think they are worth, I would never have to be concerned with funds for the Lord’s work again.  God have mercy on such “willing ignorance.”  I wonder if this fellow has ever read Isaiah 24:18, “And it shall be

That he who flees from the noise of the fear

Shall fall into the pit,

And he who comes up from the midst of the pit

Shall be caught in the snare;

For the windows from on high are open,

And the foundations of the earth are shaken.” and 29:6, “You will be punished by the LORD of hosts

With thunder and earthquake and great noise,

With storm and tempest

And the flame of devouring fire.”, and if so does he believe them?

The Prophet Isaiah also verified the Lord’s prediction in his inspired writings.  See Isaiah 13:1-22 in which Isaiah explicitly states that “the day of the Lord…..shall come as a destruction from the Almighty,” 13:6.  In the chapter Isaiah describes in detail the judgments that the Lord will bring

upon the earth during the Tribulation.  In 13:3-5 the Lord says that He has commanded His  “sanctified ones,” and that He has called them from the end of heavenas “the weapons of His indignation.”  Now isn’t this a “coincidence”?  Or is it?  Is it possible that the Lord is referring to bringing Planet X and other heavenly bodies into our solar system from the blackness of deep outer space to use in bringing judgment upon the wicked of this earth?  Read 13:10 and think about it!  Whatever the Lord is bringing “from the end of heaven” is most certainly going to cause great earthquakes and destruction upon the earth and even move the earth itself out of its present orbit,

13:13-14. Isaiah 13:1-22, “The burden against Babylon which Isaiah the son of Amoz saw.

2  “Lift up a banner on the high mountain,

Raise your voice to them;

Wave your hand, that they may enter the gates of the nobles.

3  I have commanded My sanctified ones;

I have also called My mighty ones for My anger—

Those who rejoice in My exaltation.”

4  The noise of a multitude in the mountains,

Like that of many people!

A tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together!

The LORD of hosts musters

The army for battle.

5  They come from a far country,

From the end of heaven—

The LORD and His weapons of indignation,

To destroy the whole land.

6  Wail, for the day of the LORD is at hand!

It will come as destruction from the Almighty.

7  Therefore all hands will be limp,

Every man’s heart will melt,

8  And they will be afraid.

Pangs and sorrows will take hold of them;

They will be in pain as a woman in childbirth;

They will be amazed at one another;

Their faces will be like flames.

9  Behold, the day of the LORD comes,

Cruel, with both wrath and fierce anger,

To lay the land desolate;

And He will destroy its sinners from it.

10 For the stars of heaven and their constellations

Will not give their light;

The sun will be darkened in its going forth,

And the moon will not cause its light to shine.

11 “I will punish the world for its evil,

And the wicked for their iniquity;

I will halt the arrogance of the proud,

And will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

12 I will make a mortal more rare than fine gold,

A man more than the golden wedge of Ophir.

13  Therefore I will shake the heavens,

And the earth will move out of her place,

In the wrath of the LORD of hosts

And in the day of His fierce anger.

14 It shall be as the hunted gazelle,

And as a sheep that no man takes up;

Every man will turn to his own people,

And everyone will flee to his own land.

15 Everyone who is found will be thrust through,

And everyone who is captured will fall by the sword.

16 Their children also will be dashed to pieces before their eyes;

Their houses will be plundered

And their wives ravished.

17 “Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them,

Who will not regard silver;

And as for gold, they will not delight in it.

18 Also their bows will dash the young men to pieces,

And they will have no pity on the fruit of the womb;

Their eye will not spare children.

19 And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms,

The beauty of the Chaldeans’ pride,

Will be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.

20 It will never be inhabited,

Nor will it be settled from generation to generation;

Nor will the Arabian pitch tents there,

Nor will the shepherds make their sheepfolds there.

21 But wild beasts of the desert will lie there,

And their houses will be full of owls;

Ostriches will dwell there,

And wild goats will caper there.

22 The hyenas will howl in their citadels,

And jackals in their pleasant palaces.

Her time is near to come,

And her days will not be prolonged.””  I would also suggest that our readers carefully study Isaiah 24, where the prophet again clearly connected chaos in the heavens with terrible judgments being brought upon the earth. “Behold, the LORD makes the earth empty and makes it waste,

Distorts its surface

And scatters abroad its inhabitants.

2  And it shall be:

As with the people, so with the priest;

As with the servant, so with his master;

As with the maid, so with her mistress;

As with the buyer, so with the seller;

As with the lender, so with the borrower;

As with the creditor, so with the debtor.

3  The land shall be entirely emptied and utterly plundered,

For the LORD has spoken this word.

4  The earth mourns and fades away,

The world languishes and fades away;

The haughty people of the earth languish.

5  The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants,

Because they have transgressed the laws,

Changed the ordinance,

Broken the everlasting covenant.

6  Therefore the curse has devoured the earth,

And those who dwell in it are desolate.

Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned,

And few men are left.

7  The new wine fails, the vine languishes,

All the merry-hearted sigh.

8  The mirth of the tambourine ceases,

The noise of the jubilant ends,

The joy of the harp ceases.

9  They shall not drink wine with a song;

Strong drink is bitter to those who drink it.

10 The city of confusion is broken down;

Every house is shut up, so that none may go in.

11 There is a cry for wine in the streets,

All joy is darkened,

The mirth of the land is gone.

12 In the city desolation is left,

And the gate is stricken with destruction.

13 When it shall be thus in the midst of the land among the people,

It shall be like the shaking of an olive tree,

Like the gleaning of grapes when the vintage is done.

14 They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing;

For the majesty of the LORD

They shall cry aloud from the sea.

15  Therefore glorify the LORD in the dawning light,

The name of the LORD God of Israel in the coastlands of the sea.

16 From the ends of the earth we have heard songs:

“Glory to the righteous!”

But I said, “I am ruined, ruined!

Woe to me!

The treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously,

Indeed, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously.”

17 Fear and the pit and the snare

Are upon you, O inhabitant of the earth.

18 And it shall be

That he who flees from the noise of the fear

Shall fall into the pit,

And he who comes up from the midst of the pit

Shall be caught in the snare;

For the windows from on high are open,

And the foundations of the earth are shaken.

19 The earth is violently broken,

The earth is split open,

The earth is shaken exceedingly.

20 The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard,

And shall totter like a hut;

Its transgression shall be heavy upon it,

And it will fall, and not rise again.

21 It shall come to pass in that day

That the LORD will punish on high the host of exalted ones,

And on the earth the kings of the earth.

22 They will be gathered together,

As prisoners are gathered in the pit,

And will be shut up in the prison;

After many days they will be punished.

23 Then the moon will be disgraced

And the sun ashamed;

For the LORD of hosts will reign

On Mount Zion and in Jerusalem

And before His elders, gloriously.”

Folks, it is obvious that these visitors from out of the heavens are coming, whether some want to believe it or not.   Wicked unbelief will not stop these clearly predicted events from happening.

Yes, I am well aware that Elenin and Planet X are not mentioned by name anywhere in the Bible.  Does that mean that they don’t exist just because they are not named in the Bible?  Does that mean that the Lord God is not going to use them to fulfill the prophecies of His Word just because He didn’t call them by name?  Many hundreds of things that we see and use every day are not mentioned by name in the Bible.  Does that mean they don’t exist?   How about you?   Is your name recorded in the Bible?  If it isn’t, does that mean you don’t exist?  Silliness gone to seed!

The inspired Word explicitly states that the Lord “…..worketh all things after the counsel of His own will,” Ephesians 1:11.   Does this then mean that the arrival of Comet Elenin and Planet X into the solar system right at this particular time in human history is not included in the “all things?”   Well…??  Get serious about believing God’s Word or take down your sign!

Mentioning “this particular time” reminds me that…….

The Lord Himself told us WHEN these things were coming…….

     Oh yes He did!  I’m not referring to the “day and hour,” so some of our readers don’t need to go into hysterics.   What I am referring to is the fact that the Lord Jesus Christ Himself explicitly and plainly stated in The Parable of the Fig Tree,

Matthew’s Gospel…….“So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, KNOW that it is near, even at the doors.  Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled,” Matthew 24:33-34.

     Mark’s Gospel…….“So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, KNOW that it is nigh, even at the doors.  Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done,” Mark 13:29-30.

     Luke’s Gospel…….”So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, KNOW ye that the KINGDOM OF GOD is now nigh at hand.  Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled,” Luke 21:31-32.

      Now how about a little serious Bible study?  The words translated as “all these things” in Matthew and “these things” in Mark and Luke literally mean all at the same time.”  In other words, the Lord Himself explicitly said that when the time would come when everything He had predicted to occur in these chapters [earthquakes; famines; pestilences; one ethnic group pitted against another ethnic group; nation against nation; wars and rumors of wars; signs from the heavens; etc] is occurring all in the same period of time then God’s people [true believers] could KNOW that the “KINGDOM OF GOD” is staring humanity in the face!

Oh yes it does mean this!  This is not just my “interpretation” or my “opinion.”  Look up the meaning of the Greek words for yourself in your own Concordance or Lexicon.   See Thayer’s Greek Lexicon, pages 491-493, Strong’s No. 3956.  Thayer’s says that the word “all” as used in these passages and the Greek tense in which the word occurs, specifically means “these things all taken together.”  But this is by no means the end of the matter…..

The Lord Himself then reinforced the truth He stated about “all these things” by referring to  “This generation” in all three of these gospels.   No, He was not referring to the generation living at the time He was on earth giving the prophecy.  Again, look this expression up for yourself in your own Concordance or Lexicon.  Thayer’s Greek Lexicon, in referring to “this generation” as used in these passages, explicitly states, “the whole multitude of men living at the same time: used especially of the Jewish race living at one and the same period.”  See Thayer’s, page 112, Strong’s No. 1074.

In the context of The Parable of the Fig Tree the Lord Jesus Christ is referring to “the generation” that is living when the fig tree, typifying the nation of Israel [Jeremiah 24:5-7, “Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel: ‘Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge those who are carried away captive from Judah, whom I have sent out of this place for their own good, into the land of the Chaldeans. 6For I will set My eyes on them for good, and I will bring them back to this land; I will build them and not pull them down, and I will plant them and not pluck them up. 7Then I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the LORD; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God, for they shall return to Me with their whole heart.”; Hosea 9:10, “I found Israel Like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers As the firstfruits on the fig tree in its first season.   But they went to Baal Peor, And separated themselves to that shame; They became an abomination like the thing they loved.”], is re-planted in her land [re-established as a nation…1948] and then begins to put forth leaves [expands her territory…Six Day War, 1967], Matthew 24:32-34, “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 33So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors! 34Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place.”  It is “this generation” which shall not die off or pass away until “the kingdom of God” [Luke 21:31-32…Millennial Kingdom] is established on the earth.   Praise the Lord!  Glory to God!  Hallelujah!

Beginning with the year that either one of these historical events occurred, 1948 or 1967, and counting forward, it then ought to be obvious that we believers living today are swiftly approaching the end of “this generation” set forth by the Lord Himself.  Only seven years remain in either one of these two time periods.   What is the prophetical significance of this for our readers?

In 1948 Israel was reestablished as a nation for the first time since 70 A.D., 1,878 years ago.   If we move forward using the time when Israel changes their own calendar each year, Rosh HaShanah, the 1st day of the 7th month on the Jewish calendar, then from Rosh HaShanah 1948 to Rosh HaShanah 2011 will complete exactly 63 years.   The 64th year will begin on Rosh HaShanah.  [Gene believes Daniel’s 64th Feast of Weeks occurred with the Feast of Shavuot, or Pentecost, Sunday June 11-12, 2011 CE.]

The 70 Years…….Folks, I firmly believe that the final seven years are the seven years of the Tribulation and are reserved for Israel, and for God’s judgment upon the Christ-rejecting Gentile peoples of the world, Daniel 9:24-27, “Seventy weeks are determined

For your people and for your holy city,

To finish the transgression,

To make an end of sins,

To make reconciliation for iniquity,

To bring in everlasting righteousness,

To seal up vision and prophecy,

And to anoint the Most Holy.

25 “Know therefore and understand,

That from the going forth of the command

To restore and build Jerusalem

Until Messiah the Prince,

There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks;

The street shall be built again, and the wall,

Even in troublesome times.

26 “And after the sixty-two weeks

Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself;

And the people of the prince who is to come

Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.

The end of it shall be with a flood,

And till the end of the war desolations are determined.

27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;

But in the middle of the week

He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.

And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,

Even until the consummation, which is determined,

Is poured out on the desolate.””  63 + 7 = 70.  “70” is the Bible number for “the restoration of Israel.”  The Lord Jesus Christ was 30 years of age when He began His public ministry, Luke 3:23, “Now Jesus Himself began His ministry at about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, the son of Heli,”  This left 40 years to be completed in a 70-year period before Israel was taken away from being a nation.  In other words, it was 70 years from the birth of Christ until Israel was driven from their land by the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D.  Now here at the end of this present age we today are living in another 70-year period, which began with Israel’s restoration as a nation and will end in seven more years with the “the Israel of God” being restored to a right spiritual relationship with the Lord.  Read Psalm 90:10, “The days of our lives are seventy years;

And if by reason of strength they are eighty years,

Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow;

For it is soon cut off, and we fly away.”   Glory to God!  Hallelujah!  Praise the Lord!

     I would be negligent to our readers if I didn’t also point out that if the current cycle of events were to go one more year to Rosh HaShanah [Yom Teruah, Feast of Trumpets], 2012, this whole numerical pattern explicitly set forth in God’s Word  would be totally “fouled up.”  Think about it!

Now what did the Lord Himself tell us about this final generation?  He told us explicitly and plainly that “all these things” which He prophesied will be fulfilled and “the kingdom of God” will be established on the earth within the boundaries of “this [final] generation.”  The Lord Himself clearly and explicitly stated in Matthew 24:35, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.”, Luke 21:11, “And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.”, 21:25-26, “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.”, and Revelation 8:7-12, “The first angel sounded: And hail and fire followed, mingled with blood, and they were thrown to the earth.

A third of the day did not shine, and likewise the night.” that this includes one or more heavenly bodies flying past the earth or even falling upon the earth, causing great destruction and death upon the earth.  Is this plain enough?

The Lord also explicitly told us believers, “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh,” Luke 21:28.  Compare Romans 8:23, “Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.”

In view of these Truths…….

    So if this whole subject of Elenin, Planet X, Nibiru, or any other heavenly body flying past or even falling upon the earth and causing great death and destruction is, in the opinion of some, just A FARCE, FOOLISHNESS, AND NONSENSE, then I have a suggestion for any and all of our readers who feel that way…….   Tear these statements of the Lord Himself out of your Bible, throw them in the trash, and tell God that you don’t believe this is ever going to happen and that the Lord just lied when He Himself predicted that they were going to happen. Do I really expect some believers to do this?  No!  Not if they really are true believers!

Then why did I even bother to write this study?  I wrote this whole study to fulfill my obedience as a “man of God” to the inspired command given to Timothy and by example to every true Christian minister, to reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine [teaching]; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables,” 2 Timothy 4:2-4.

Folks, I am sick to my stomach of those who profess to be true believers viciously attacking and demeaning other true believers because “They don’t see things like I see them!” or “What I believe is correct and everyone else is wrong!” or “The Lord told me, so I can’t possibly be wrong.”  God have mercy on such arrogant pride and willful ignorance and wickedness!

Have true believers forgotten the Lord’s own explicit command?

“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.  By this shall all men know that ye are My disciples, if ye have love one to another,” John 13:34-35.

Have true believers forgotten the inspired admonition of Paul?

But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:  From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love,” Ephesians 4:15-16.

     I am not for a minute suggesting that true believers compromise or “water down” the truth of God’s Word.  God forbid!  My prayer is that the Lord will raise up more true believers who will “earnestly contend for the faith,” Jude 3.  But I am saying that true believers are all members of the same family and brothers and sisters in Christ.  When we disagree, just as members of any family will disagree from time to time, is it necessary to cut one another down, to speak to one another and about one another and against one another viciously and meanly and hatefully?

This kind of language might [???] be okay when we believers are dealing with avowed enemies of the truth who hate us, hate our God and Savior, hate our Bible, and hate everything we stand for, and who  rail against us in the crudest and filthiest of language.  But those are not the people I have in mind!  I am talking about relationships between God’s people; true believers.

Are some true believers unable to say what needs to be said or at least what they think needs to be said, to another true believer without getting ugly and mean about it?  Are true believers simply unable to discuss different viewpoints on the Scriptures without becoming mean, ugly, proud hearted, arrogant, disrespectful, and hostile towards a fellow believer?   Well…???

     By God’s grace I’ve set my point in this study before our readers, while also trying to get across the great truths of God’s end-time message, and I have done so whether some like what I’ve had to say or not.   May the Lord bless the truth of His Word and also carry this appeal home to the hearts of all of my fellow believers who read this message.  I close with God’s own precious word,

We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren…….Hereby perceive we the love of God, because He laid down His life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren,” 1 John 3:14-16.

Final Goodbye to Comet Elenin

Final Goodbye to Comet Elenin

Remember, I told you not to sweat the small comet? Well, it’s now breaking apart. Check out this link:

What people are still worrying about and “prophesying” about, and confusing with Comet Elenin, may be that Planet X, Nibiru thing, a possible brown dwarf that may be close to us soon. It’s planet and solar alignments with this body that may be responsible for some earthquakes and other natural disasters coming to a planet near you. During this 40 days leading up to Yom Kippur, it’s a good time to watch, pray, repent, and prepare to meet thy maker. Yahweh can and will use whatever He desires to bring judgment upon earth. The signs in the heavens were prophesied, so we should see an increase in heavenly activity.

Watch the Middle East, the nations are aligning also to fulfill Scripture and prepare for the end-time wars. Iran is stepping into its role as the king of the south. Russia is ready to play its part as the king of the north. Europe is looking for a strongman to lead that continent to its final destiny. These are the most exciting days in human history . . . prior to Yeshua’s return, that is. Look up, your Redeemer is nearby!

From Dust to . . . Compost?

From Dust to . . . Compost?

Yahweh told Adam in Genesis 3:19, “In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for dust you are, and to dust you shall return.”

You may have heard about the new technologies unfolding in the funeral industry.
